how will 18x9 6x135/5.5 0(zero) offset 5.00'' backspacing fit on my vx?
And how do they in compare to stock 18's? Will they offer a wider stance? weight concerns,etc?
I'm looking at kmc rockstars matte black
I have done alot of research but I could still use some advice.
what size tire are you going to put on it? that will make the biggest fitament difference that wide a rim will probably not work with your factory tire, its just too wide. i would say at minimum you would need to go to a 255/55/18 if you want to stick close to factory

factory wheels are as follows
178mm wide. 127mm from inner lip to hub (protrusion into the wheel well) 51mm to outer lip of wheel
on your 9 inch wheel it will go...
0 offset - 114mm inner lip to hub... 114mm hub to outer lip
+12 offset - 126mm inner lip to hub.. 102mm hub to outer lip
+25 offset - 139mm inner lip to hub.. 89mm hub to outer lip
+30 offset - 144mm inner lip to hub.. 84mm hub to outer lip
your 5" backspacing is equal to the +12 offset... basically the wheel is going to stick out past the factory wheels by 1.5-2"
if you go larger than stock with your tires, expect a good bit of trimming of the front and back of the front fenders.
as far as balancing concerns, they are going to take more weight to balance, and some older balancers may have trouble with them, id suggest a place that does road force balancing to get the smoothest ride out of the new setup
lastly, check out rickshaw's gallery, he is running 18x9 KMC wheels with a 5.71 backspacing, and they fit very well under his lifted VX with larger than stock tires
just re-read your post.. a 9" wheel with 0 offset is different than a 9" wheel with a 5" backspacing.. not sure which you are looking at?
TRIM TRIM TRIM, either way. etl pretty much sums that up.
The amount depends on whether you have a lift or not and your tire size. I imagine you could get away with no trimming if you went with rubber band tires.... but do me a favor and save that look for the OTHERS.

I think WormGod's wheels are 18x8.5" with 0 offset, right Gary?
And, he has 285/60-18 tires that required trimming to fit.
Look at his gallery to get an idea of appearance.
Also,,,,use tirerack's tire search feature to see what tires fit with which wheels, what their width should be, and overall diameter.
Stock diameter is about 29.75" from what I can tell. I think they're 38mm offset too.
Wheel/tire combos I've seen recommended online usually land in the 18-20mm offset range. Past that's probably where you gotta start trimming -- especially if the diameter is bigger. Or,,,maybe their is more than one offset for that size.
Edit: I just looked up KMC Rockstar. eBay had the 1st set of 18x9 with 6 x 5.5 pattern. That auction says the offset is 35mm (not 12mm). So, they match up fairly close to the stock config. If anywhere clearance on the inside would be in question (IMO).
there are different offsets of the rockstar.. the 35mm is the one rickshaw has on his VX (5.71" backspacing)

DJVX--- I highly recommend the KMC "XD-Series" RockStar in 20x8.5 (yes, 20" rims) with +10mm offset and 5.14" (35mm) backspacing with 108mm center bore opening on 6/5.5 bolt pattern (KMC Part #77528560310-Black). 295/50R20 (31.6" O.D.) = this is a very rare size with only a small handful of choices. My personal favorite is the General - Grabber "UHP".
