Overlanding with a trailer!

Now here's somethin' you don't see everyday...overlanding with a trailer!
The trailer has rock sliders and off road tires! (and they have a ton of sponsors...how do ya get a job like that??!!)

Dave's thinkin' we should bring our t@b trailer along on Fins & Things next year! Hey, it's shorter & lighter than these trailers! Hmmm, get it lifted, throw on some mudders...:goof:
T@B makes an off road version, but only available in Europe, would cost a fortune to import, we looked into it.:(

I had started building a knockoff version of these trailers about a year ago right around the time my VX transmission blew up. Here's a LINK to the largely out of date buildup page(buildup starts at bottom of the page for some reason). I had wanted to ditch the built in tents these trailers feature due to the high costs and proprietary parts. Mine is going to be set up to simply deploy a 4ft.X 10ft. synthetic deck to put up a normal(small) tent on to get you up off of the cold, wet, typically critter infested ground. All in all, I only have bout $150 and lots of my time invested, so not bad.

Does anyone have experience towing the Conqueror Australia UEV 440 behind a VX?
This amazing off road trailer appears to be the right size and weight and certainly has a uniqueness, style and pedigree similar to the VX. I don't know anything about importing a trailer or how currency translates from AU to CA but these things seem WAAAYY over-priced to me! They are cool but not $50,000 cool!

Commander and 490 are bigger versions and more expensive. Don't see pricing on 440 but probably 35-43k (base option) + shipping.

Saw the youtube vid of that one a couple of weeks ago. That is one of the few trailers I have seen that I would consider overlanding with. Most seem like more trouble than they are worth.

Thanks guys for the input. Yup they sure are pricey and even more crazy, used trailers are fetching more than new! Must be a shortage in production. It would make sense to find something similar here, if there is such a beast. Sure look like a lot of fun though and could make a big difference if you get really stuck somewhere and had to wait a while for help.

I'm not sure how you would mount a pintle hitch to a VX. I think I have seen slide-in pintles for a receiver hitch so that may be a non-issue.

Although being heavy on the tent side of things I have been looking at the Jumping_Jack trailer

It is made a mile away from where I live & is one of the most versatile trailers I have seen. Not sure of price yet tho.
