Road rash is not my idea of a good time!

While out for a training ride today someone decided it whould be okay to pull out in front of me while I was cruising along at 25+ MPH on my bike. As I swerved to avoid him I hit a big pot hole and over the bars I went. 25mph + pavement = OUCH! Luckily no serious injuries. My helmet did its job. Lots of road rash on mostly my right arm, leg, shoulder and back. My shoulder is a bit stiff since it took most of the impact.
The part that hurt the most though was scrubbing the wounds clean!:eek: Wow does that sting!!!!!
The bike faired well (luckily).
Ibeprofen, antibiotic ointment and a bit of rest for the rest of the day!

And I bet you the person who caused this had no clue and did not stop to help you up? Sorry, hope training is going well, good luck with the recovery and all the various ointments and creams you will be best friend's with until that all heals :)

See what happens when you get a sleek, speedy bike? You're moving so darned fast that no one can see you so they just pull out without realizing.

Glad the bike survived without any damage.....oh, and I'm glad you're alright too.:p

Sorry you had your trainning day turned that way;The drive has to be from here NYC,i bet you that;They never have a clue of what's going around their surroundings,they are too busy checking I phones & playing with the radio

Sorry man, lots of bike lanes here in Ogden. But still doesn't prevent accidents...

All my co-workers are road cyclists... Some even argue that it's safer than motorcycles :laughr:

We get a lot of blue haired snow birds here and there are a lot in that area.
I was in a bike lane in an area that is a very popular place for riding. Unfortunately, a lot of people see a bike a think of a kid tooling along...not someone doing 20 plus MPH.
Like they say though...there are 2 types of cyclists...those that have crashed and those that will crash. I have had a few spills throughout the years but this was the worst...fortunately nothing broken, I will heal and the bike is fine.

Sounds like you made out bad. Hope u do better but ull feel betta soon....I wreck on my GsXR 1000 at about 100mph give or take 10mph and yea no gear was on me but a tee**** and pants and hoodie so yea ouch for me put me out for a while. LoL but im back and better then ever ;)

The shine/glare from the ointment kind of kills all the redness and nastiness of it all!

Nasty wreck. I hope you heal quickly and get back out there.
I also hope your new bike didn't get messed up too bad.
