I love the look, but it would not make much sense, since I have the upgraded bulbs.

yes I am.

And I've driven with them on different vehicles. They arent that bad. they do dim the lights but not terribly bad.

try niteshadez, they work great and you can make them darker or lighter depending on how you want em/ how many sets of PIAA's you have =)
