I saw suggestions from others about installing it to the headliner, but there was concern about how solid it would be when pushing buttons. I gave it a go with some sticky-back heavy duty velcro and a few dabs of GOOP adhesive for extra hold. I found the sticky-back stuff may peel off plastic if the temperature gets too cold.

I think the trick to making it solid is to "pinch" it in place with velcro from two different angles. The velcro on the top of the gauge holds it in place, while the rear velcro, at almost 90-degrees, stops it from swaying when pushing, or pulling on it. The cable also adds some stiffness. It can take quite a poke now! :p

I also ran a 6' straight-through Cat 5e extension cord through the headliner down the A-pillar and connected it to the OBDII cable. It gives me the option to move it to another car if I need to.

I'm still looking for some heavy duty velcro in grey to blend in with the headliner cover better...

Lookin' good Kenny...I got yer grey Velcro right here pal... :p

No, I'm serious, I have in my hand at this very moment 1 package of Velcro Extreme (for rough surfaces)that's actually grey in color.
I'll put it on my phone desk next to the door so I don't forget it on the 16th !

Great idea! Sometimes the headliner is hairy enough to grab the other part of the velcro.

Thats exactly where I want to mount one. After new tires, I think this will be my next mod...

Thanks for posting these pics.

...Can you please post a wider photo of it so we can see how it looks in the grand scheme of things?

Thanks!

It's cool you can change the background light to any colour. Now I just need to get the courage to take the "temperature control" apart and put in blue lights.

Well above the mirror is cool, but I don't have a mirror plus I would get a kink in my neck with it up there, so here was my solution.

cd Changer was toast, so installed a Pioneer 4800 in its place and used the upper hole for the scan gauge.

Speaking of filling holes, didn't know what to put in the cubby hole, so installed a clock.
