Help! I called, I went, I saw, I drove, I fell in Love, now I have to decide, I have read a lot in the arcives about what to pay for a 1999 VX, but am still not sure what I should pay
Found one with 53,000 miles in EXCELLENT condition, clean, clean, clean inside, outside and underneith, ALL maintiance records, only visuial flaws seen: two small paint chips on the hood, two small stone chips in windshield, mods are trailer hitch and little larger tires than stock.
Thanks, Eyepatch

two things to keep in mind..

1. its going to get increasingly more difficult to find a vx in excellent condition, as those of us who baby them generally intend to keep them

2. with larger tires there will be a mileage discrepency, so you will probably be coming up on your 60k service soon depending when the larger tires were added

What's the asking price? Price should be between $9-$11K, depending on add-ons. Trade-in on a 1999 with over 50K miles will bring you around $5,000 just because dealers will not get emotional over the VX and they want to make a bit of profit....

I would not pay more than $10K...I almost bought a 1999 with 28,000 miles for $9,000 in Florida...I decided to wait and got a pristine 2000 foxfire with 50K miles for $9,000. I was really looking for a 00-01 proton yellow, but none was available for under $13k at that time.

But if you really like it...go for it!

My $0.02. Good luck!

I am still happy with my 99'. I not selling mine, but if you find someone with a 99' VX who loves theirs even half as much as I love mine, buy it :luck:

This is the 2001 that Eyepatch already has according to his profile, but he sounds like a first time buyer of this 1999. ? Yes.
