Patrick,
Sounds like a pretty cool looking VX. Throw us a bone and shows us a picture. I'd really like to see it with a snorkel kit on it.
Peace.
Tom

To my knowledge there weren't any "production" snorkel kits and they were simply fabbed by the various teams campaigning the VX in rally. Standard practices should apply for making the electrics water-resistant.

Yeah, what he said... and use punctuation!

I was using all of my superhero resources to research snorkels for PBkid, and I found nothing. I agree that any rally/Dakar snorkels are customs.

There's nothing you can't do with PVC, saw/torch and duct tape. Give it a go.

Take a look at www.independent4x.com/ They have snorkel kits for the Trooper that you MAY be able to adapt...
Would probably require quite a bit of modification due to different wind-screen angles, etc.

Don't go with the Trooper kit, it isn't even close and would be a waste of money. The VX snorkel goes in through the cladding and ties into the airbox where the stock elbow inlet is. Most VX snorkels are 4" polyethylene corrugated sewer tube, some with a flat-top cone cap mounted with pop rivets. It's very much a shop fab and for function not looks.

well ive been searching for a snorkel for quite a while because i think it would look badass on the VX. havent found anything yet, however if independent 4x would be willing to make it, i would be willing to pay for it...would fit nicely with my independent 4x stickers on my front window...

Seems like with all the fabricating that is done by VXers that one would be made easily

How in the world did you find that thing? Looks like it should fit perfectly with a little work. Honestly from the pictures it just looks like the hole was cut just a little low and too far back. I am pretty sure you can get that thing perfect with some careful detail work. Looks good so far keep us updated. Wonder how much shipping to the USA would be.

Seems like most of the fit problems on that kit could be fixed with a dremel and a heat gun?
