Hi,

I have my VX on the lift and when we run it all 4 wheels rotate. Is that correct ? When we stop the engine wheels on one axel seem to be "locked" - they rotate together. I can not understand how this can be right ??? One wheel should rotate independantly from another one. What might be the problem here ?

thanks

That's the differential at work doing what it's supposed to do.

What usually freaks most people out is when they see the other wheel moving in the opposite direction of the wheel they're turning by hand. :p

I don't think I'll ever comprehend why that happens...

Correct the Vehicross has a limited slip differential.

With a limited slip differential if you jack up the axle and spin the tire the other tire will spin in the same direction. With an open differential the other tire will spin in the opposite direction.

wow.. so it is working right ! I can not understand how we are not wearing tires when we make turns ??? does it allow for some slipping ?

That's where the "limited" in limited slip comes into play. Some VX's will chatter a bit from the rear diff when turning tight at full lock, and that's the LSD trying cope with the short wheelbase.

I see, thanks !

Now comes the harmonics vibration at 50 mph. Anybody had issues with harmonics ?
