I landed a dash besel for 20 bucks and decided to try a more oem-like instal for my truck. I had to get rid of the center vents and still need to finish the filling in the monitor.. I think I will wantt ot have it on an pushed into the dash so that some glare is eliminated off the touch screen. I gutted the center consel also and added my new Itx 16cmX16cm motherboard. Cehck out the pics:
still need to fill in the corners/edges

Excellent ideas. I really like the use of the center console.

yeah, geocities doesn't let too much bandwitt, I'm using another site now. It's a migrus itx board, has a Pentium p4 and runs pretty strong. Thanks for the feedback

Either throw them up on vehicross.info or go with imageshack.us no need to register and very simple to use the latter.

Wow
Nice work!
I like where you put the mobo... I hadn't even thought of putting it there.
I still prefer a flip-down monitor, but yours looks pretty spiff. Where did you redirect the vents?

Francesco, very impressive! I have the typical flip-up screeen but would rather much have a set up like yours. Just don't have the heart to chop up my interior unless I've got a spare piece.

Triathlete,
From the title, it sounds like he's got a computer installed in the center console, wired up to the screen in his dash and his sound system, with an XM receiver and MP3 capabilities. I assume he's running some form of MP3Car software which may also give him OBD2 scanning capabilities, GPS, and DVD with the right devices attached. :)

:cryb: no $$ for an obdii connection yet.. but good call on everything else. I still need to find a spot for the dvd. I'm actually kinda stumped on that one since I have the radio installed in the lower din and the screen up top pretty tight... I might try to drop it in below monitor someone. Oh, and the vents are taped shut
