Well, my ABS light has been coming and staying on so I pulled the code and got:

Code 43: FR Holding Solenoid Valve - Shorted or Disconnected Coil/Wiring (B-12).

Looking further in the manual, the suggestion is to replace the EBCM (Electronic Break Control Module) or EHCU (Electronic Hydraulic Control Unit) depending on what book you reference (I think they are two different names for the same thing). Has anyone else ever replaced the unit? Or does anyone have the part they are willing to sell? Any experience with this would be appreciated.

I presently have the same issue with my hydrolic control unit for the abs system. Luckily, Tone was selling a unit which will be arriving anytime now. The dealer was actually charging $2300 for the unit. I suggest looking through the net or find any salvaged VX that still has one intact. Installation is straight forward according to the manual. But, I'm having my mechanic do it as it's messy and you'll need to bleed the brakes according to the manual. Should take care of the abs light once installed. Good luck.

I had the same problem with mine a few months ago. I bought a used one from a trooper for $150.00 and had it installed for another $125.00. Works great and a much better deal than the dealers $2300.00.

So do any of you guys still have the old unit? I'm wondering if it could be rebuilt? Anyone want to give up his old/broken one for some experimentation?

Is there any harm done continuing to drive...or are we simply talking about no ABS function , just normal breaking.

I dont have time to fix it right now...but need transport!

Any help much appreciated....
