I plan on taking a ride northwest to Austin on Saturday 18th to meet up with Tone (Lisa-you in ?) and have some stereo work done. Consider this an open invitation to anyone local who might like to tag along. My ride should only be in the shop up there for a few hours then the rest of the day is open. I should be heading out from the big city around 8am. Visiting old friends....priceless

I need to get a bumber hitch from Tone so maybe I will plan on that day for it.
Let me know. What kinda stereo work you getting done, I developed a nice sub box that you can see and hear when your in Austin. Everyone says I should sell them. Maybe I will post a pic or two of it in the gallery.

Hope you make it up there Gaven. We'll be starting a partial refit by ripping out the blown Fosgates in the doors, cutting away the rears, then some amp & sub work. I'll be leaving Katy around 8am for the 150 mile trek. That should put me at Tone's place around 10:30ish.
If you can make it drop me a PM and I'll give you the address if you don't have it already

We'll be meeting at the stereo shop I run, AudioFX
We are in Georgetown, about 15 miles north of Austin - go north on 35 from Austin, exit#267 and loop back around so you are heading south on the access road. Go about a mile until you see the Yamaha dealer on the right and turn right at that street, Northwest Blvd. We are down on the right about a block in between 2 day cares. There is a sign out front and the address is 1523 Northwest Bld. Shop phone is 512.930.7686

The install of the new sub, amp, rear speakers, & crossover assembly (to switch between Sirius, IPOD, & head unit that eliminates numerous wires), went well. I left Tone's shop very impressed with the work the crew did. A quality bunch of guys. I got to admit it's gut wrenching to see the entire interior of the VX ripped away for the numerous installs that went on during the surgery.
The operation on mine was not as horrible to watch as Jillian's hood insert & hood being hacked open to open the air flow from the scoop he has installed. In the end it looks great Jullian-nice work (though I'm still trying to figure out how you got Tim & Tone to do all the cutting for you :p ).
Lisa- many thanks for taking Cary our for afternoon cocktails- a wife can only spend so much time trapped in an audio shop.
In the end it's always good to visit with friends on the weekends. All of us ought to try it more often....................

George,
I'm glad you came down as it gave us a chance to get together and for me to meet my new assistant Tim :p I'm very serious about having an April meet in Houston then drive down to one of the casinos (I don't care where). I'm thinking we would meet up in Houston Sat morning, grab lunch, drive to the casino, stay overnight and lose some $, then come back on Sunday.
Thanks to your cool wife an Lisa for taking care of our lunch!
PS how quiet is the cabin now with the doors dynamatted?

The mat makes all the difference in helping drown out the PV2 growl as well as road noise on each side of me. I should have done the rear deck at the same time.

That's encouraging to hear as I was planning on doing the doors and floorboard very soon. If you want, we can have a Dynamat party at my house :)

The cocktails were good for both of us to get away! Had a great time seeing everyone! I hardly recognized Tim, again you look great!
Hey Guys (& Gals),
It was REALLY good to see everyone again. I've missed going to meets.
Julian, it was nice to meet you, and I enjoyed cutting up your VX. :) There's no way I could have done that to mine.
The April thing sounds like fun and I'd love to attend a Dynamat party.
Tim
P.S. Thanks for the compliments Lisa, they helps me stay motivated. :)
