Boy, would I like to own one of these.

The original has been out of reach for me, but perhaps this one will be?
On display in Detroit I hear.

One of the more interesting looking Lamborghinis, but as a former owner believe me when I say you don't want one! LOL! Unless, of course, you really enjoy incessant wrenching. ;)

It look's like one of those Coyote VW kit cars from the 80's. Remember Hardcastle & Mc Cormick! IMHO it SUCKS!

Absolutely gorgeous. I still like the Gallardo better, though. :D

Joe, which Lambo did you own? I've heard that the newer ones are way more reliable, though haven't improved as much as Ferrari.

Yes, they are beautiful. But what a pain in the arse! How'd you like to keep this in tune...

I had a late S-model Miura with factory AC, so one of the dual distributors was omitted for a single 12-cylinder unit. That actually gave it a bit more "reliability" but it was still a royal pain of a car. I went from that to an '84 Porsche 928 and it was like going from hell to heaven, especially in the handling and comfort department. ;) Not to mention you can at least find 928 parts!

vw owns lambo now, so the reliabilty issue should be better....

LOL! :D Ok, so maybe the VW logic doesn't work, but Lambo IS supposedly more reliable nowadays.

By the way, here are some specs:

$700k price tag
6.5 liter v-12
700 hp
7 speed manual
AWD
0-100 km/h estimated at 3.3 seconds

Would be sweet getting one of those engines in a VX!!! Can you say LamboCROSS?!? (Remember the Jerrari?)

I think a turbine-electric setup with drive motors at each corner would be the ultimate VX retrofit. Call me crazy. ;)

The Miura uses a transverse mounted engine. Look closely at the engine photo I posted and you can see the differential and where the half-shafts mount. Plus, it's a really BIG pig of an engine.

Plus, it's a really BIG pig of an engine.I wouldn't call it a pig, by any means! It's less than 2x the displacement of our block and generates more than 3x the power output! Seems pretty efficient to me, if a bit hefty! In any case, more of a juggernaut than a porker!

You don't need it in a VX, look at Lambo's upcomming SUV. Squint just a bit, an' you got your wish....on a larger scale I'm sure.

This was way before the Coyote. Built in 1965 it had a top speed of 169 MPH. The fastest street legal car in the world.

"This car was years ahead of everything else ( it would take Ferrari 7 years to come with an equivalent road-car: the Boxer)."

This was... Built in 1965Actually, the Miura pictured here is a brand new concept from Lamborghini. Its styling is strongly influenced by the original, though, which is the car you're talking about. :)
