I'm buying a '99 vx and had read in previous posts that the largest tire that would fit on a stock rim w/no mods to the vehicle was 265/70/16. The dealer in Wyoming, who has been very good to work with, called and said the 265's are too large and hit the wheel wells when attempting to turn. He is suggesting staying w/stock size tires. Anyone have any tires larger than stock on '99 rims that don't require modifying the vehicle? I could really use your input today on this, as it's supposed to be shipped tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

I am currently using 265/70-16 Duler A/T Revos on my '99 with the stock rims. They come no where near rubing on the fender, cladding. They are just over a 1/2" wider and about 1" taller than the stock 245/70-16.

RichD; How do you like the Bridgestones? How long have you had them? Just making sure---no mods whatsoever? Thanks.

I absolutely love the Bridgestones. I got about 7k on them now. At the time they were hard to come by. I had to order them and that took about 4 weeks from Firestone. I have been to the Badlands in Attica Indiana twice since having them and they have not let me down, even with the snow cover in some areas.
No mods whatsoever. I drove in for installation and drove home.

*edit* Just want to add that since these tires are about an inch taller...off the line performance suffers as a result. Nothing drastic, but I noticed a slight change.

I am a bridgestone loyalist, on my vx and streetbike. Good product and solid value for the pricing. I drive frequently in ice, snow just for starters, and I love them-

I have 265/70/16 BFG AT's on my 99. I had no problems with rubbing even when off roading with full flex of the suspension.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm not sure why the others didn't fit but I'm going to try either 255's or 265's. Billy, always good to hear from a fellow triathlete. First Ironman was in '81. Never did know when to stop. ;Db;

I have 265/75 on mine, but had to trim a little off the clading. It does'nt show a bit. The 32 inch tall Bridgestone BigFoots raised my VX another1 1/2 inches.;Do;
