I'm looking for someone who has installed a body lift who can give me some options as to how the rear bumper was modified to fit and also get the cladding back on. Only way I see is to cut off the back of the frame and re-weld it 3 inches higher then box in the body mount's. Has anyone done this or is there a better way?

I seriously wouldnt recommend a body lift for the VX. It scares me to think at how much it affects cladding. Some sure fire cutting will most assuredly be involved. But, if someone has done this already, I would be brave enough to peek between my fingers to see what it looks like.

I think suspension is the only way to go, properly. But, thats me. Other possible ways could surprise me.

if memory serves me correctly, the only piece of the cladding that attaches to the chassis is the rear bumper. All the others, even the front, just screw into the body.

If I were doing this, I'd look at fabbing up some relocation brackets. The ones you get with the default PA body lift kit are crap (as are most of the parts in that kit).

There are at least 2 Vxs on this site with body lifts. I do not believe they took such drastic measures to make it work...but I'm not positive. If you search you shall find the answers you seek!

Member Dstruction is the only person I know that made it look pretty good. I know he didn't go to that extent, and the back plastic was kinda stretched around the rear but it looked good still.

I believe someone in Alaska did one also...and was doing an SAS also. He doesn't post up much on the board any more.

Okay, after searching it was Boarzhead. Must be an Alaska thing since that is where Dstruction is also from! ;eeky; Anyone know what Boarzhead is upto these days? Never did see any type of finished photos of his VX.

I haven't talked/seen him for a few months, last I heard he was gonna be doing the SAS but I have no idea if he even started it. Will tell him to check in here if I see him.

Thanks for the advise, but we ended up cutting off the last 2 1/2" of the frame and re-welded it to the top of the frame. Seemed to work out just fine, bumper fit back in place and the cladding went back on right. The rear cladding is the only piece a body lift affects.
