Visited my local Isuzu dealer parts department to purchase Intake manifold gaskets. Was told that there was a hold on this item by Isuzu but if I provided my vehicle ID # they would special order them for approx $30 each. WTF? Obviously on hold because the original gaskets were garbage & replacements on the way.

Called Merlin 1-800-727-8066 at St Charles Isuzu. Merlin informed me Isuzu in Cinncinatti had 400 new type replacement gaskets . Purchased 2 at a internet price of $18.51 ea shipping was free but I paid an extra $12 for 2 day Fed X Air. Great Service

Hopefully, I will have my rebuilt SC (Failed front Rotor bearings allowed SC oil leak thru into intake manifold) back by Friday (one day COMPLETE rebuild service in Florida cost $490)

I purchased intake gaskets for the same price at St. Charles a few months ago. Nope, I don't have any problems with my intake leaking or whatnot. After reading just about all the posts on this site (I can recite some of them) I decided to play the Murphy's Law game. As long as I carry certain parts, these will most likely never break down :)

Dam, I should really carry a spare engine. 64K and going strong.

I take it there is a non-published issue with the 'old' gaskets?

No, the 3.5/3.2 intake gasket issue has been know for years, just not a real common problem in the 3.5's save for a few.. I think Reggie may have been the first that I heard with the problem but, it was fixed.
Maybe they finally have made a good adjustment in the gasket.

If you are planning to use the SC on a Class 4 trail, then your going to be in the Dragon by yourself. Actually, I think that running the loneliest H'Way in the US to Moab (H'way 50) The SC will be either broken or broken in upon my arrival.

Looking fwd to your drive.

PS Truthfully, would you drive it up Hells Gate?
