Angrylittle man asked the other day (see 800+ viewed Houston meet post) about McKinzey Bond Isuzu (near Katy, TX) closing its doors so I decided to take a drive by last night after hours. It seems the end is near for another ZuZu dealership. The place used to sell both Isuzu & Suzuki vehicles and all of the latter's cars have been pulled from the sales lot. Seems there's not much left but some used Rodeos and a pile of new "***-Enders". I fear it's just a matter of time before another Isuzu garage shuts down forever. Pity...a real pity. Figured I'd wait a few more days (to help them get over the pain) then call to find out the story.

Hi George,
I had my oil changed there last Saturday and talked with both Pauline and Jeff, their service advisors at McKinzey Bond Isuzu, Katy, TX about their current "situation".

They are being "killed" by the Katy freeway expansion project, due to "poor access". They are "trying" to move down the freeway to be with Westside Chevy/Kia at the Grand Parkway and I-10. They will not know if this is going to happen for 2 to 6 weeks, due to permits and aplications, etc. Jeff may take another job with Jaguar as Service Manager at FM 1960 and I-45. I will keep you posted as I hear new information.

Thanks for the info Larry. Do they plan on keeping Isuzu if they move in with Chevy/Kia?

George,
They will have Isuzu inside the Westside Chevy/Kia operation as I understand the setup. They previously were the Kia dealer before they got Suzuki.
