Hello fellow VXers
My 99 is now on its 3rd intake gasket. I have 44,000 miles on my Vehicross
and would really love to keep it but this recuring problem is really getting
to be a pain in the butt. I see where Isuzu has put out a TSB on the
torque spec on the gasket bolts to 13lbs. Anyone can anyone who has
gone through this offer me some friendly advise?

thanks

Well i would check the flatness of the head and the intake interface if you keep going through gaskets. Or hand cut some gaskets from a more traditional gasket material and double up on them for the correct
thickness.

I personally replaced my intake and gaskets new gaskets and a supercharger :)

Me too, but they're still good for about a year. The extra pressure of the SC I'm sure contributes to their demise. I'm considering a dead soft annealed copper gasket.

I know, the phenolic gasket was intended to keep the intake cooler, but the SC gets hotter than the head does, so it might be good to put it on with no gasket.
