recently it seems like my VX has been rolling more when I put it in park and on any type of unleve surface. I have to watch and others have commented when steping out, the truck moves after in park more than it used to. What could be wrong, is this normal with wear and age (slop in the driveline)? Joints, shafts, etc. all are fine. Can anyone measure how much (horizontally) there VX moves while in park?

You will get some slop over time but excessive is not good. The emergency brake will elminate this and take the stress off of the driveline when parked on the unlevel surfaces.

Not putting in your park brake on at at any time while parking is inappropriate. Not engaging it even while on a small incline/decline will ultimately hurt your tranny.

The sequence for stopping and parking your auto tranny would be as follows:

Come to a stop, keep foot on brake

Put shifter in "P" while STAYING on your foor brake

Now engage park brake, release foot brake. Reverse this procedure when leaving with your car. There is reason for why you can not move the tranny shifter until you get on the foot brake first.
