Yup - that's me. That card is a little under 7" square. Worth having if you collect VX stuff, but maybe not worthwhile if you're looking for images of the VX02.

There's an issue of Truck Trend with the VX02 on the cover August 1999. There's also an Isuzu video introducing the 2000 model line that shows some people cruising around in it. Those are more worthwhile if you can find them.

Johnny well I have to say thank you. In my very young youth I remember a Cartoon that I went crazy over. Unfortunately it was not in English at the time but a kid has a mind of its own. Viewing your site I now know the name of that Robot that I liked so much as a kid.
MAZINGA!!! GOLDORAK!

If I remember right he use to shoot a huge rocket from his chest!

:D

I don't think you would have seen Goldorak unless you lived in France or Belgium - there's also an arabic version.

Goldorak was a redubbed version of Grendizer from Japan - it proved so popular in France that at one time it was the top rated show for its time slot (around 7 PM if memory serves).

There was a similar series of shows that appeared on US TV called Force 5 - this show featured smaller (edited) segments of Japanese dubbed TV cartoons for Mazinger Z, Gaiking, Grandizer, Danguard Ace, and Spaceketeers. Danguard Ace had two doors on his chest and could shoot a huge missile - this sounds like the robo that you remember. He had red wings on his back and could fly.

JA,

It was Mazinga Z. I saw it in Mexico on TV,had the toy and the comics. I believe my grandmother might have a few old comics around the house. I will have to look for them when I go back.

There ya go - forgot about Mazinga's belly missile. Mazinger Z and Raideen were both very popular in Spain - guess they were shown on Mex TV too. Iv'e got a couple of Spanish language kids books in my collection about them both. A company called Nacoral distributed toys about many of the Japanese robots.

It also appeared as Tranzor Z I believe. Had a sidekick femme robot that shot her breasts off as 2 missiles. Silly Japanese. :D

Yeah I believe Tranzor Z is what they called it as part of Force 5. There's a handful of giant female robots that started with Mazinger Z and went on through the years with Great Mazinger, Grendizer and ultimately Mazingkaiser:

Athena A
Minerva A
Venus A
Aphrodite A

They all had em, "interesting" attachments!

Whoa. I could never remember what these robots were called. I had two of them when I was a kid. According to the website they were "Mazinga" and "Dragun". Mazinga had a cool little plane that you stuck in his head. I was also a big fan of Tranzor Z. The female robot was Aphrodite A if I recall. Thanks for bringing back some fun memories Johnny!!!

I didn't know your website existed and now that I do, I've bookmarked it for many happy returns. Fantastic collection of pictures, specs, information and history. I've always wondered about these things and now I know where to go for the info.

THank you for a beautiful website!
