ok, so im just playing with the idea of putting acc. lights on my yakina load warrior luggage rack. i all okay with the mounting and what type of lights im going to use, my question is - what is the best way to run the wires from the lights to the engine bay? i dont want to see them, so if anyone hase any good tricks for this, feel free to list them!

My best solution is to just run them down the passenger door gutter and in the engine bay. what doya think?

i drilled through one of the rails for the luggage rack and roof . used wire loom to cover wires. shawn

Maybe you have seen it...maybe not but Yakima offers a set of lights. I don't have them on my rack but their pretty cool. They mount behind the farring for protection. All you do is flip the farring down and flip the switch
I think this is for the mounting bracket only and you add whatever lights you like...

I did this on my rack.
I have a right, a left and two out the back.
I have two PIIA 520's for fog and two PIIA 1200's for spots, in the front. I have three PIIA wireless units and switches in the A pillar for switching the three rack directions.

Roof Rack Lights
Here are two pix of side and rear.
+/- 12 volts runs to a water proof box on the rack holding the PIAA recievers.
I understand the wireless units are no longer made-People had problems. I got mine last year on EBAY. So far-So good.
Only two wires are required to feed the rack.
I ran a 2 gage wire from the battery to an attach point in the jack bin. I feed my TV camera, a Cobra inverter and air compressor (All located in the spare space), from the heavy wire termination. I ran a pigtail with a two wire one way connector to the space behind the light module on the rear drivers side. When I hook up the rack, I run drop wire (2) with the mating connector, to the space behind the light.

The bigger wind deflector is quiet and things haven't been blown away. It just takes some cardboard for a template and 3/16" ABS plastic.

well, i decided to mount only two, as 4 wouldnt fit. it looks awesome!!! ;Do; it tooks some fiddling to get the lights aimed correctly. i had to add about 7 washers to each light to get it to lower and fit between the top and bottom bars of the rack. it was a clean install, and ill have pics up tomarow if anyones care to see. Man, i am thrilled to have them on finally!!! i think i take it for a test drive now...

thanks guys! glad you like em! i love them so far. last night it was raining hard and it was pitch black. when i flipped my lights on...boom! everything lit up twice as bright as before. I have never had acc. light mounted on the roof of the car, but i like it. when i drive with em on, i see to beams over my head. and when it was raining, the rain was lit up in the beam, it was a cool effect.;Dy;

Just don't flip them on during a snow storm or you will be blind!
Looks good!

i just mounted a couple of bicycle hoders they sell at Ace Hardware in the cieling of my garage. now i can take off the top rack when im not using it. it works pretty well. ill show pics. also, i got the yakima tire holder for the load warrior, and have put my fifth tire and wheel in there. ill post pics of that too.

if anyone wants a detailed instruction on how i was able to get the hella 550's to fit on the rack, just give me a hollar, and ill be glad to help.

i recommend it highly if you have a yakima rack. the light kit is only $70. some people think that since i have ligts up there i cant take the rack off but this is not true. i hooked up a connector and just run the wire under the weather stripping in the door. its a easy on easy off install. oh ya, the light mounts are $20 as well. still, not bad
