Everyone in Cental Fla. OK? How bout it Joe? Your area appears to have been fairly flogged this time. It's 6pm and a few of us in Palm Coast still have power. We were spared the worst but the radar has me concerned 'bout you guys down there.:( :( :( :( The Daytona gang got slapped one more time. Hope I see the whole Fla. contingent(and anyone else that can make it down here next week.) lash it down,board it up,an' keep your heads down. Wayne

We survived direct-hit #3 without any major issues, then again we grew up with this stuff. My fiancee had some more roof damage and enough water blew in the gable vent to soak the garage ceiling to the point of collapse, all over the front of her '01 Trooper. Fortunately wet drywall doesn't do much in the way of damage. She was without power only about 12 hours, although my place is still out. Haven't been down to our Ft. Meade property yet, but need to so I can check on the river. Our place there backs on the Peace River and where we're building the new home and the shop is within 3000 feet of the river, which was already above flood stage after Frances.
All-in-all less damage we've seen in our limited travels than what Charley dished out. Hope all is well with our Florida VX family and also that the SE folks don't get too much of what's left.
See y'all in Daytona the 2nd! ;Do;
....tha fam and vx survive number 3 ; ) last i saw/heard from bantan was in the daytona meet thread that he was gonna try to make it out there...x

Hopefully Bantan handled his Florida baptism fine! LOL! He's in West Palm or Lauderdale I think, and a friend down there said they didn't get much of anything with just a few trees down here and there. Still no power at my place, so I'm sneaking posts at work! ;pg;

We are in a very devastated area at the moment. Two hurricane eyes in 3 weeks over my house! About three hours calm for Frances and two for Jeanne. I don't ever want to do that again.
I personally faired well with only a few roof tiles gone and some soffet damage. A few trees lost some limbs and most of their leaves. But, I have friends that lost their entire roofs and then the walls caved in around them - Total destruction!!!
98% of Indian River, St Lucie, and Martin counties lost electricity. Off 24 first time and now 39 hours for me - but I live in an area with all underground utilities. Most don't and will be without power for as much as three weeks. The heat and humidity drastically change your lives.
Beach-front homes are mostly destroyed. Roads are gone.

some might say those homes should not be on the dunes to begin with......she giveth, she taketh away. It is kinda nice to see all the ponds 'n lakes full again. Right now we have more frogs and toads than I've seen in twenty years(feasting on the masses of mosquitoes no doubt) Cool how everything sorta times together. Ratsnakes and hawks are living large on all the squirrels blown out of their nests. All the wading birds that dissapeared a few weeks ago, are back and they brought their friends to groove on the amphibian bloom. Here in the woods, things are a bit thinned out allowing the palm and elms to get a start. All in all, a good thing! sea turtles&humans 0- Flora&Fauna 1 wayne

You can read about my adventures in the Florida Here I Come (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=44439#post44439) thread.
Well being originally from the Carribbean I'm use to hurricanes, so I took it in stride. However I was worried that if the eye of the huricane past directly this way the 2 Cranes attached to 2 buildings across the street from where I live would come crashing down on my Baby:
