In prep for a cross-country trip, I have a question regarding the supercharger:
I read that it has a bypass valve. Does that mean that if the belt breaks the engine will still be usable? I'd like to get a spare belt, but worst case, what will happen?

Doesn't really give a definitive answer, but after searching and reading a few other threads, I beleive the engine would be ok... you may lose power as intake may be more restricted, but I'm pretty sure it would work ok.
Probably a good idea to go ahead and bring a spare belt, though.

Been there- done that. Engine will run at somewhat reduced power but it will get you home without incurring any adverse effects. I carry a spare belt but that does no good when the Hard rubber coupler ( internal in oil housing)disintegrates.

Unless that coupler causes the rotors to jam, it will still be driveable.
