You would need new:

pistons, better rods, fix the stock oiling problems, fabricate headers and intake manifild/plenum, bigger injectors, new fuel system, new computer to control fuel and ignition, fabricate new exhaust. The return for your investment of time/money just isn't there.

After all that, the transmission won't hold the power. I've built several cars with enough power to snap driveline parts, replacing transmission or clutch every oil change gets old quickly.

In the end, its still 4,000lbs, its NEVER going to be fast.

Hotsauce has it ........ the trans is probably at the limit with the stock VX engine .........
.
more hp - someone said 'there is no substitute for cubic inches ... of course, this was probably said before Honda developed a 1.5 litre F1 engine with 1010 horsepower (*with* reliability btw) ......
.
so, look for a big block Chevy and a THM400 trans ........ and then someone willing to fabricate the parts to make it work ........
.
then - of course - the small VX rad (boy is it small) will need to be replaced with something larger ........
.
and on and on an on .......

I am working on a custom single turbo for my Axiom, i will be using a Garret T3/T4 and custom everything. I have everything planned out and ready to start fabbing it up soon.

Hey t2p...
What Honda F1 motor would you be talking about? This years motor is a Honda RA004E 3L V10 N/A with about 900hp

.
A twin turbo F1 engine in the mid-to-late 80's ........I can not remember the 'designation' ....... it may have been the engine prior to the the RA168(E ?) ........
.
Twin Turbo 1.5L V6 .........1010 hp ............ many interesting features, but one feature that (initally) suprised me: cast iron block .....
.
I believe the RA168 was similar, but had lower compression to comply with a new rule change ............. A presentation and document was prepared by the Honda engineers on the RA168 engine ....... this document is available from the SAE ........
.
One of the engines - maybe the RA168 - was responsible for 15 victories (out of 16) in one season ....... I believe a crash by Senna kept them from going 16-16 ..........
.
while we are on this subject ........... a not-so-well-known fact, but at one time, Honda was THE leader in turbocharger technology. They never did offer a production vehicle with a turbo ..... so that may tell you a little about how Honda felt about turbos on street vehicles ..........

I owned a little Mitsubishi "Precis" hatch back with a 1.6 litter turbo engine. It had the dual shifters for economy and turbo. I don't remember any of the specs on that, but I do remember being able to push 110mph on third gear ( out of four ). That was scary, but definitely exciting!

He said building the block for around 20psi... I think that means building one that would work.

I ment that i would build the block with lower compression forged internalls to handle the higher pressures.
