View Full Version : Importance of Disposible cameras

There was a thread a while back about people keeping a disposible camera in their vehicle. I even replied to one where I stated that I now carry one. Today it paid off. Coming into work today I noticed a Semi carrying vehicles of different makes. Nothing unusual until nestled between an S-10 and Lexus SUV on the top ramp was a flat black strange looking SUV. When I got closer I instantly recognized it as the new HUMMER H3! I believe they purposely put it on the top area to keep people from noticing it from cars at eye level but luckily I pulled out my little camera and snapped that last two shots I had left . DOH:mad: I believe I got some good undercarriage shots. I was also lucky that I had my camera easily in arms reach instead of in the glove box as the freeway entrance was starting to split into north and south bound lanes. Since I had to get along side I was already committed to go the opposite direction. I will get the photos developed and post them here in case people want to see how the undercarriage looks like. I did notice IFS and COIL springs in the rear. The vehicle also looked really small for a four door and sort short. Kinda like the Colorado in the sense of good ground clearance but low roof line to make for good lower center of gravity. The side bulge of the rear and front panels did look really trick. The Semi was going North bound on I-17 @ 3:30pm with Oklahoma plates leaving Phoenix towards Flagstaff.

Cheers,

A disposable camera also comes in handy for:
1. Insurance claims
2. Vx Sightings (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=31846#post31846)
3. And on days like this

I wonder if what you saw was the H2 SUT which looks like an H2 "Sportrac." It's a version of the H2 with a short tuck bed on the back but the same form factor. It's the same thing Ford did the the Explorer to create the Explorer Sportrac. If it was a true H3, did it include those nike ACG tires the concept had with it?
I always keep my digital camera handy in the car for moments like this. Disregarding the "balls" hanging from the back of the rig, check out what's strapped down secure for it's payload.

It wasn't the H2 SUT but when you click on the H3 i posted above it takes you to the vehicle I saw which is the same that car and driver is reporting. HUMMER is coming out with the H3T , T meaning truck and that is the recent photos.

The H3 was also seen at MOAB according to the latest issue of JEEP magazine. What got me was they only showed a few pics too but no details. I suppose those manufactures respect each others privacy.

Would a scan from a 4x5 print work?
If not , I will look for the negatives.

I'll try the 4x5 scan, can you try to scan at least 300 dpi?
