Can someone help me answer a question. I took my used 1999 VX to the dealer for 37,500 oil change/tire rotation/fluid check. The dealer entered my VIN number into his computer and logged in the service items he was doing. He gave me a print-out that said my VX was delivered to its first owner on Jan 25, 2001. Could my VX have sat on a lot from 1999 thru 2001? Could that be true? That would explain the low mileage.

Also, they had to replace some gaskety things and hoses that were broken but they said were covered under warranty. I thought by 2004 my 1999 VX was out of warranty.

What's the deal?

The warranty date is from the day it is actually driven off the lot and put under the first owners name. If in fact they didn't actually purchase it until Jan 25, 2001 then you have the remainder of 1/2 of the original warranty since you are the second owner. So, if the original warranty was 10 years 120,000 miles then you get 5 years 60,000 miles etc. The 5 years would be from Jan 25, 2001, so you would be covered until Jan 25, 2006. The same should apply for the bumper to bumper coverage (different time frame), but I'm not sure what the original warranty was on the 99.

The '99 warranty was a little different.

"The Isuzu New Vehicle Limited Warranty is extended to the first owner and all subsequent owners of the vehicle during the warranty period." 36 months or 50K miles.

Isuzu Roadside Assistance Program is for the duration of the stated warranty- towing, flat tires, out of fuel, dead battery, and lockout. Call 1-800-444-0303.

"The Isuzu Powertrain Limited Warranty is extended to the first owner and all subsequent owners of the vehicle during the warranty period." 60 months or 60K miles.

If your warranty started on 1/25/01, you're lookin' good on the powertrain up to 60K miles.
