Also on the new DI 3.5 motor:

The increased power produces a scorching zero-to-60 time of 7.5 seconds versus 8.9 seconds for the non-DI powerplant and a quarter-mile acceleration time of 15.8 seconds versus 16.5 for the
non-DI motor. In instrumented testing conducted in August by Motor Trend magazine, a 2004 Axiom 2WD equipped with the direct-injection engine bested even that performance, zipping
through the quarter-mile in 15.4 seconds at 90.9 miles per hour.

Sweet I need to buy that motor and Supercharge that.

That motor is faster than ours SC... blah

How much you think that motor would cost?

Hummm...

I've seen that motor up close on a stand at a carshow here in Miami back in november. To tell you the truth, the block and the intake manifold look almost identical if they arent. But then again...

<--- is confused...What is the difference between the new 3.5 and the old one? It's my understanding that the old is direct injection as well...Is it just the difference in compression ratio?

Looks like you'd have to cut a hole in the hood for that intake plenum. Or replace the plenum with S/C.:)
