Only differences I'm aware of are in the 99.

It has a mechanical heating and cooling system where the 00 and up has the computerized temp control. The 99 has 16 inch wheels where the 00 and up has 18's. The warantee periods are different only 3/50 vehicle warranty 6/60 powertrain for the 99.

Did I miss anything?

2000 - 2001 had additional choices of color with the introduction of exterior colors of Proton yellow, Mica green, Kaiser grey and Foxfire red. Interior addtition was grey/blk combination. 00-01 had the 10year/120K mile warranty for first owners

O.K. Scott... you've got to make the search button 10x bigger, make it blink, and have arrows all around it.:bgwb:

Oh, and by the way :fyi: ... the black ones are the fastest (non-supercharged).:yesb:

Yep! Thought about that already. Just trying to work it into the new set up and still make it look symetrical.

Here's a temporary fix....

SEARCH (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/search.php?s=) ..... Just kidding! Ya just have to get used to the site, then it all comes together. I don't mind answering questions while pointing out the search functions.

BTW.... My Proton looks FAST just standing still! ;Dy;

I'd rather have that climate control on the '00 and '01 models. I think the 18" wheels look better but I'm kinda glad I have 16's because there haven't been any pitting/peeling problems on those like the 18's have had. Plus tire options are much more varied and I like the smaller wheel for off-road.

Something I can't remember ever seeing mentioned before is that there are some extra flaps in the rear mat with some hooks beneath. These are not the same as the cargo net hooks. I just recently first saw them in a Kaiser owned by OnYourLeft from this forum - I believe his is an '01. My '99 doesn't have them. Also, I believe I read that the seat strap was too short on some '99 VXs and that it was lengthened in subsequent model years (?).

BTW, never cared much for silver but I love it on the VX - silver sort of enhances the otherworldly, spaceship look of the thing, and has a neat look in various lighting circumstances. Also minimizes any blemishes. I like red/black a lot, but the grey/black is just as sharp-looking, and I guess the only reason I like the red more is because I came from driving a car with an all grey/black interior so the red is something new. But any VX in any color scheme is a beautiful thing. :-)

The 18" wheels and lower profile sidewall tires provide a little tighter/ better handling "on road". IMHO

Hey David,

I think you're describing the attachment hooks for a child carrier. I didn't realize the earlier models didn't have them.

My '99 came with a child seat anchor that had to be installed by the owner. I still have it, but I never used it.
