Fix my pump hanger issue and a new issue pops up...sigh....

My ignition wont turn with the key off the lock position. Tried the second key and even had a buddy make one off the vin but no go. They open everything else. Steering wheel does not lock in place but the shifter does. Disassembled to the point of pulling the steering wheel now but havent done it yet. When I loosen the cable to the steering wheel lock the shifter moves fine so I'm figuring the cylinder is done. Tried all the tricks I can think of: Lubed it, banged it, hit the key, etc. but no help so to the point of drilling it out. My question is, has anyone drilled one out? If so, what size drill did you have to go up to, how deep, and what do I watch for? Did a lot of internet looking but was hoping for specific experience with the Vehicross.

Thanks for looking!

Have you tried turning your steering wheel from lock to lock?

Yep, but will try again...anything to avoid having to drill
