I am trying to pull the entire CV Axle shaft off the VX, does anyone have the instructions of how to remove the "Green" CV cup where the inner CV joint goes. I know you can remove the Circlip to release the joint from the green cup, but how do you release the green cup itself?

Thank you

The green cup is actually part of the axle that fits inside the front axle housing, so to get it out you will need to drop the front axle housing. There is a big thread on this very thing that I'll have to find.

Doing all of this from my phone so it may, or may not, work.

Try this a how to: http://www.vehicross.info/modules.ph...warticle&id=49

I'll try and hunt down the thread that I was talking about.

Thank you so much for all the good info "MSHardeman", I really appreciate it. I have to see that Honda and Toyota have Isuzu beat on this design. I have seen so many YouTube video where the inner PC cup just snaps in or out of position without having to remove the axle shaft. Well I know three of my CV boot bands will stay in place...I can't say the same for the band that goes around the green cup...That was a bitch to get to, and I could not use a banding tool on it because of not having a straight shot at it...That was the only reason why I wanted to remove the whole CV axle!

You're welcome. That's what we're all here for; to help each other out. Some of us, myself included, have used heavy duty zip ties to hold the CV boots on. When I replaced my half shafts I didn't have a banding tool and ended up using zip ties on the green cups until I could get the VX to a shop to have them install proper band clamps. Zip ties worked like a charm and it was easier for them to do the band clamps since they could raise the VX up in the air to get a better angle on the green cups.

I have been running black heavy duty zip ties on my CV boots for well over 5 years now and only had one slip off once.
