Difficult relative to what? It all depends on you.

For my mom, it would be impossible. For a well outfitted shop with lots of space, time and money, not too hard at all.

Well, there are only four places on the frame that hold the body, hence the ability to have a body lift. I would imagine once you disconnect the wiring harness in the places where they connect, it shouldn't be overly difficult. Would I attempt it in the garage? Absolutely.

One from Louisiana
With rusty chassis
Straight paint and body
Another from Missouri
Was rolled repaired at a shoty body shop
Bad body great chassis
Exploring options

Along with the mounts and electrical connections, everything that passes through the firewall will have to be disconnected and the gas filler tube...

There's more to it than electrical, and even that isn't easy as it will have to be disconnected and removed in various places. Then u have steering linkage, brake and throttle linkage, ac and coolant pipes, etc. IMO, its a big job.

Not that it cant be done, but...

That's the same thing everyone used to say about the 5MT conversion ;)
