i have thought about this for the past decade or so and continue to think it is a cool idea: when you look at a vehicle it is impossible to see both sides at the same time - so when getting new wheels i always wanted to get two different wheels the same size and close to the same weight for each side - so when you see the vehicle from one side it looks one way and when you walk around to the other side you have a different style - same tires just different looking wheels for each side - comments?

Hey, it'd be like having two vehicles with different customization styles for the price of one. I've considered the same thing in the past, but being as picky as I am about the wheels I put on my vehicles, I've rarely been able to find two styles that I like equally well at the same time.

In the end, it's your vehicle though, so if it's something you want to try, I say why not? It's not like you'd have to leave it that way if you ended up not liking it as much as you'd thought you would.

(On a more local note: You going to Frog Follies this weekend?)

not different from front to back different from one side to the other - none could ever see both sides at the same time

LMAO..yea I get that.

My analogy was simply how my twisted mind processed the idea
However, if you were viewing the charms of Granny panties from the front...
.....you'd need a " rear view mirror " () to see the surprise!

Aesthetically silly.

Mechanically, scary. I would be skeptical even with "close weight" wheels. You may not feel the change at low speed, but at higher speeds I can imagine there will be a difference. Not quite sure how your AWD, steering, and alignment will like that. I say try it and report back in a year. ;)

i never intended to actually do this i just thought it would be cool - like having two different (looking) vehicles depending on which side you are standing on - seems like im the only one though :tweed:

Uhm...hellooo.

:p

Sure, there may be practical limitations to doing such a mod when you're talking about wheels and tires, but there's nothing wrong with the principal of thinking a vehicle with two simultaneous looks would be sort of cool to experiment with. As a matter of fact, I've already seen a few business vehicles in my area that have had that very thing done with full body vinyl graphics. One vehicle, two different advertising schemes.

A few years ago the BAR Formula 1 team tried to get a similar paint job approved with two different sponsors each getting half the vehicle split right down the middle, but the bosses said no.
