Quick question. What are the sizes for the front speakers and rear speakers? Someone told me that if you remove the stock housing unit on the front you can reinstall a slightly larger size speaker. Not sure about the back?

My speakers are the stock set and they sound like cardboard at his time :(. So listening to music is painful. Please let me know.

Fronts are 5.25 but many have fit 6.5's. The biggest obstacle is depth...you need a fairly shallow speaker up front.
The rears are 4 inch. You can remove the bracket and rework it though to fit larger speakers.

If your interested I can post some pictures of my rear speakers, just to show you where to cut to fit 6.5s in the back. Also I had no problem fitting 6.5s on the front.

I didn't even bother taking the metal out, just layed down some scraps to catch metal.

Pictures would be great. I ordered the 6.5 for the front but I am unsure about cutting to fit anything in the back. I appreciate it. my email address is on my profile. Thx!

My daughter bought me replacement speakers for the VX. I was shocked that they were 4" when they arrived. Now I know:)

Trimming the rear holes to 6.5 I cut out the 4inch holes to thread into, just drill new holes to fit your speakers and use a fastener to tighten it down. I'm using some dynamat and locktight, the metal sure rattles a lot lol.
As for speakers. Went with some nice focal 6.5 components up front and infinity reference 6.5s coaxial in the back, I don't feel like mounting components that I won't hear back there. Digital designs 5 channel and a pos pioneer single din runs it all. Thats my system currently. Thinking I'll add a Rockford sub dual voice coil 2ohm at 1 ohm to give it some kick :)

Any questions feel free to ask.

Does anyone know exactly what the maximum depth is for the front 6.5 in speakers? I need to replace my DAUGHTER'S (!) speakers and am trying to decide how deep a speaker I can buy. - thanks!

I didn't run into any issue installing standard polk or focal 6.5s upfront, tons of room so I'm not sure if it should be a concern. Didn't even need trimming at all to the speaker mount if I recall.

I ordered these and they fit perfect. The right size and I guess you can check the size and depth and find others if you want.

If you don't mind cutting or making some changes you can probably get the bigger ones others have ordered.

Just FYI--- A good place to start for car stereo/speaker shopping is the website of www.Crutchfield.com. They are a wealth of information.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up picking up kickers for both front and back, and just stayed with the original 6.5" and 4" for now. They are bound to sound better than what's in there now.

You might have to play around to make those rears fit but it shouldn't be hard. Hope you enjoy them a few of my friends have kicker 6.5s they sound good. The majority of what you hear will come off the front speakers anyway
