Found an ebay listing that had the "older" black style Purolator PCV valve PV1061. I've tried the revised style that's the brown and blue type now. Seems to me the black ones were better.

Verified they were the black ones (probably NOS). Seller said he had a bunch of them, so I made a deal for all he had.

I'll bring them with me to Moab, as I recall some others liked/used this Purolator model also.

Maxxie my Maine Coon was helping me with the layout….:grino:

I've got 4 of these left if anyone's interested.
$5 each plus $4 shipping.

Don't know about the brown ones but the blue ones now have a spring in them so they don't rattle ... even when they are working properly. Why oh why can't the enginerds leave well enough alone. It worked without the spring ... didn't need to 'fix' it.

I just changed mine yesterday - pulled the brown and blue one (Napa brand), replaced it with this BLACK Purolator. The used brown/blue one had a type of garbled rattle, I could definitely still hear "something" rattling inside, but like it was full of oil and muffled.

Brand-dang-new blue one didn't rattle at all.

Well, truthfully it did rattle ... but then I took it outta the box.
