So, I like the looks of the Jeep Liberty's light bar along the front edge of the roof and thought I'd see about getting one. They list for over $600 and the knock-off ones are really cheap and would be mostly decoration as the lights aren't bright. but I found one local at a scrapyard and the guy said he'd sell it to me for $280 or so. Sounded good so I went to take a look at it. It looked great and has good quality lights only one problem: It's about 47" wide and our roof is only a little over 42" between weatherstripping. So just an FYI for anyone else thinking the same thing it won't fit.

FWIW I think the knock-offs look just as good or better and are way cheaper than even your junkyard prospect. Plus the knock-offs come in the right size. Take a read:

I wonder if you couldn't retrofit some Hella projectors or something to make it for real...

For that price you should look into a 30" LED bar... 10800 Lumens.

I really don't care for using a cargo basket and now have no clue what to do with the 30" LED bar. It's just sitting in the garage... collecting dust. :_confused

Man I wish I had a nifty rear door tire solution so I could have this problem. ;)

Perhaps we should talk about this when we meet on Friday.

The thing I really don't like about these is that they are open along the back. They look ok from the front.

Wow didn't realize that, I wouldn't want that either.

I bought the replica light bar on e-bay .It looked great and was the right size. It was made of hard plastic and was straight. It was not curved to fit the Vehicross roof. I looked like it may break if I forced it.Even if it did bend I thought the pressure would be too much strain on the double stick tape. I have seen them installed so someone knows how to install it. I would like to install mine if some one would explain how it was done.

I have the single row, not the double, but I highly recommend the LED light bar.
