Ordered the Ultra-Gauge last Saturday and it was delivered today (Wednesday) by the USPS, small priority package box. Inside was the small gauge with the OBDII connector and cord and the long windshield mount. It was a plug and play device. Took maybe 10 minutes of scan time and seems to have connected with several monitoring devices. Not sure what they all are just yet. MPG, DTE, TTE and something else is on the first screen, I scanned through the other screens and saw other info up to screen 5 and then it was blank from there to screen 7. Have sent MakoCross a note inquiring what he has done with his gauge. Photos will come soon.

I have been using mine for a year. It is great for resetting check engine codes on the fly and to get better gas mileage. You will have to calibrate the ultra gauge odometer to get accurate results. I used my Garmin driving on a straight road for ten miles three times to get the ultra gauge to less than 1% error. On the trip to the Florida meet I got 22mpg. It was real easy to do, just don't do anything that would be considered fun. I used almost all of my hypermiler tricks, it was a perfect day(no ac), flat ground. It was the only time in a year that I have managed that mileage. Now it is back to having fun and getting 17-18mpg.

Do you have pics of where you installed the UG?

Not yet. Was going to take some today but it's overcast and rainy. I just got the window mount and it's low on the windshield and come out to the windshield post. Easy to see and not in the way. There is that little "cubby" but you need to be able to get to the buttons on the back, so mounting there isn't an option.

Rod, Mike..
Aside for the real Estate on the screen what is the difference with the scan gauge..? [Which I just bought... :( ]
Anything that I should be missing with the Scangauge II?
Thanks!

I am getting older so I like bigger screens and the ultra gauge was cheaper. My motor home is bigger so I have a 32" backup screen(also doubles as TV). The scan gauge has been around longer and may have more features. We will check it out on the way to Moab.

I just googled Ultra Gauge and chose the direct buy from the company. I think it was $69 with the mounting and I got $9 back by completing a little quiz and sending back a paper (at least I hope I will).
