It's been a while and I decided to refresh an oldie but goodie for my vx. I redesigning the shifterplates to modernize the look a bit. I've already created the CAD and will be programming the toolpath for cnc prototyping. The socket head cap screws that will be in place will be more cosmetic than functional. I'm planning to re-do the 4wd shifterplate to match.

Here's a couple of quick renders on what I'm working on:

Hi Ron,

Just an idea for a future project...
Since there is a small uprising of 5 speed conversion VX'ers, maybe a 5 speed version with a cool looking boot?
:)

I am absolutely impressed!!!! Maybe my next purchase is gonna be a CNC!!! Years down the road though! What program do you use? I WISH I could prototype as well as you! Nicely done!

hey Jason...

I use Rhino 3d to design and surface a model and Surfcam to program the toolpath for the cnc. Most of the work is in the design phase of tweaking the 3d CAD file. Programming the toolpath and jigging up the material for the cnc is the other half of the job.

BTW, here's a sneak peek at an overdue project that I've been itching to get done. rudy

If those are skidplates they will definately sell like hot cakes especially if you offer different color schemes!! Nice!:yesgray:

Some of us were just talking about the side skids in Moab, as well as the front & rear skids -- trying to recall how the original "Ron" front & rear skids were made -- were they blow molded ABS?

Both projects VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE Ron...

Of course I've always been a fan of your work..

Put me down when they are available, I'm DEFINITELY interested...

Machined out of high density foam for test fit. BTW, test fits fine. Will tweak the model a bit in cad and will machine out a hard proto when I receive the material.
