She sucking air on the driver side right in the middle of the manifold.(sprayed it with MAF cleaner right at the spot where it sounded the worse and it stalled out.) Anybody done one of these? It doesn't look too hard at all. Any advice?

You have CEL code 172 etc. It's very common problem with the 6VE1 engine. No big deal to fix. Get new plenum gaskets and go to work removing the plenum. When you replace be careful not to over Torque the bolts. Hand tighten to 13lbs max. That's all. You'll be back in business in no time (allow 4 hours for labor).

I assume you mean 13inch lbs correct? I am in the process of looking that info up now. And yes I did have the CEL codes 171-172 She is running pretty bad. I have been noticing that my gas milage has been getting worse for about the last month from 14 to 15 mpg's to 10-11mpg's and then one day I started it up and it went to 2000 rpm's and then back down and was running real rough. Thats when the light came on.

If I recall correctly, there was a TSB that changed it to 13 because 18 proved to be too much.

LOL. As they say, one man's junk is another man's treasure...
I actually hate it here... but am stuck due to various reasons.
I would LOVE to live in a climate with SEASONS! :)
Allergies here are terrible too (right now in full effect).

I miss rain!
:)
I hope you enjoyed stimulating our economy though!

I did have trouble with the Allergies! But it sure was nice to get out of the cold wet and snowy weather for awhile. We did the Zip line down on Fremont Street tuesday. What a blast!! And yes they did get my money too, I guess they can't build those casino's on the winners. lol

Well I tore into the intake job tonight. A little less then 2hrs intake is off:bgwo: Gasket was broke in 2 places on driver side. Order all the gaskets plus New pressure regulator, Serpentine belt, Spark plugs, EGR gasket and lots of carb cleaner. Might just as well get all done at one time. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

When i replaced mine it was a HUGE PAIN! Nothing went right! I had to end up cutting the EGR tube since the collet nut was frozen to the manifold. Luckly my brother was able to weld the tube back in one piece apparently the dealership wanted over a $100 for a new tube! Once I got to the gasket to my shock it was cracked and leaking into all the left bank cylinders! Remember to torque the manifold back down to 13ft. lbs. not the suggested 18 ft lbs that the manual specs unless you want to do the job again. I know i sure dont!http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/thumbs/DSC02469.JPG (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=23580)

It went really smooth for me, Everything came apart like new. Pretty lucky I guess. Going to put it back together Saturday we have to see how that goes. Hope I didn't use up all my luck. lol The new gaskets are a lot different then the stock. I don"t see any plastic in them.

Well she is all back together without a hitch! And she is running way way better. I just wonder how long it was leaking without throwing a code? I mean could it have been leaking just enough that the computer was ajusting things to makeup for the extra air before it got to bad. It has got a heck of a lot more pep then it had before. I know my gas milage has been suffering, But I thought maybe it was the winter blend gas. All I know is it just runs so much better.:)
