Caught an ad on late night MeTV featuring a 1999 Ebony being treated with a cleaning product called "Wipe New". The ad was convincing, but the business had a Better Business Bureau (http://www.bbb.org/norfolk/business-reviews/mail-order-and-catalog-shopping/wipe-new-in-virginia-beach-va-90036664) rating of "D+". Visit the BBB link for details about how the business got its rating.

Anyone have experience with Wipe New?

Hmmm? Before posting, did a search across the forums for "wipe new" and didn't get any hits. Just tried "wipenew" this time and did come up with Vehi-Cross-Az's 07/30/2012 "new product endoresment using the VX" post.

BTW, thanks for the links, VX KAT.

No problem, I've had that happen on occasion also....can't explain it either.

anyone got PHOTOS of the WIPE NEW on their VX after a few months?

I used FOREVER BLACK and it leaves a shiny jet black finish, but will chip off from road rash. I just lightly sand and use the lacquer thinner to even out the spots and reapply the FB. Lasted 3 years so far with touchups.

Used 303... meh, didn't last

About 5 months ago, I used KRYLON PLASTIC PAINT from Walmart, lasts long and doesn't seem to chip, not as shiny as FB, but has to be carefully and evenly applied. You have to do many light coats and I still had issues with it splotching, but overall it looks better than the old gray.

You can see a photo of the Krylon side ( I am disabled so I have been slow to finish the rest ) in my gallery. I also did a partial Carbon Fiber Wrap where my clearcoat was peeling ( hood, & roof ) so don't mistake that for the paint.

Hey Julie
Good to see on the board!
Have you thought about using ShowRoom New? It's actually a dye that absorbs into the plastic, it doesn't chip off or crack. I've had mine on now for almost 20 months...and have never done a thing, no 303, no Armour-All, no Trim Shine, no B2B, no nothing....just run it through the auto car wash a few times....it's stayed the nice dark charcoal color I made it (when I mixed their gray and black). It hasn't faded or nothing.
Also, 303 isn't a long term product. It does get washed off.

Check out the Showroom New thread, lots of pics and details. If you do it by hand like many of us did, it CAN look streaky in some area at first, but another thin layer dramatically improves it. Some used the sprayer to apply it, and it was nice and even...but I was too chicken to use the sprayer. Probably 8 or 10 VXers have used it now with great success.
