Anyone interested in a mini meet & photo op in Colorado. I manage a steakhouse outside Denver, www.westerntrailssteakhouse.com. Check out the website for general questions, PM me for others.

I was thinking about the end of the month (Sunday, Sept 30) at high noon. I am trying to do this before winter for those who go the distance.

I'll be visiting family that weekend. Count me out. :(

Family will be visiting me that weekend so I'm out too.

Any time after that is a go for me, though. Yeah, the snows coming but it shouldn't be too heavy for a little while still so I wouldn't mind driving to the Denver area in October.

Whitney and I can almost always do weekends, so you guys figure out a date and we will most likely make it out.
Ps, sundays are always better for us.

I would love to go but we would need to figure out another weekend. I have this Sunday free, otherwise the magic 8 ball tells me "don't count on it" for weekend availability through mid October.

Psst Jack... VXsport is building something you'll like. TRUGGY :smilewink

VXsport, i wanna see your progress and how you did it, i always thought the VX would be great as a truggy , and I'm 90% sure that I will eventually do it with my Runner. something like this-

Believe it or not.... My drop top VX idea was in the back of my head before I ever bought my VX. If the VX wasn't enough of a head turner before, now it certainly is.
I am about half way though the summer projects, both mods and maintainence. It will have a removeable hardtop, bakini top and roll bars when finished. Also the back window will be split and be removeable

As for our possible meet.... I just choose a date, if Sept 30 doesn't work for all, we could try the following Sunday (Oct 7). I can schedule the steakhouse for any time or weekend.

PM me and let me know

I have a date set for Oct 7 (sunday) at high noon for our Mini Meet. Mini Meet for all. Come in and enjoy a steak sandwich and meet some new freinds. I will be sending out some invites thru PM also.

Everything is set for a Mini meet on Oct 7.....High Noon

I know there is a couple people that can't make it. Several Can make it. I am sure that I will do more meets in the future too. Our restraunt is such a great place for us to have these meets.

I have had groups by Porche, Vette, Cobra and Motorcycle groups hold meets here. They have always been fun. Last week we had a wedding reception for 150 pack the house.

DANG IT! I won't be able to make it for the CoFamGath. Have a soccer game that day at 12:45.

I know that the snow will be flying soon so if we don't get another meet in before then, we'll just have to do a VX Ski Day meet during the winter sometime.

Take lots of pictures and be sure to post them.

Unfortunately i havent gotten to play in a couple years. It want affordable for me any more when i went off to the university. I worked at a field all through high school and my first 2 years of college. I played with valhalla, naughty dogs, and stood in with a couple others over the years. I also played as a backup at nppl for 2 years.

Where do you play? What marker do you play with?

Maybe we can do a mini meet at a ski resort this season too, we are season pass holders this season. I will be running back and forth alot this season.

Vxsport-
Just fyi, for some reason in CO, its common for the size of vx meets to vary a lot, dependent on what people have going on. I've seen meets with 5 confirmed guests turn into 20 because people decide to show up and not rsvp, also seen it go the other way too.

Cant wait to meet all the new people on sunday.

Kiowa, CO 80117

Check it out on Google maps, it is a very small town so it will not be hard to find.

I too am thinking of getting rid of my 18" wheels as the tire selection is very slim for the 18s. What size wheels did you get and what tires did you get?

HOW TO UPLOAD PICS TO YOUR GALLERY:

~To add pics, you first have to "upload" them to your "gallery".

~Go to "Gallery" and click..it's located along the blue horizontal strip toward the top of the page, and it's the second item from the left.

~Then click "Gallery links"...which is also on that blue horizontal border, 7th from the left side. When the list lights up, scroll down to the "Upload Photos" and click.

~The next screen will show you can attach up to 5 pics at a time from your gallery.

~ Look for "Choose file" button, click, and then find the pic on your computer.

~ After you've selected up to 5, scroll down about 4" and click white button "Upload/Submit". It takes a minute or so to do it.

~After it uploads, it will display another screen listing the pics you've just uploaded. Here's where you can add text or a title to describe picture.

~ Click SUBMIT button.

ONCE YOU'VE UPLOADED THE PICS TO YOUR GALLERY….
HOW TO ATTACH THEM TO A POST:

~ Start a new post.

~Then on the right side you should see a small gray box titled "My pics" and inside the box there will be the words "Open" in blue letters. Click "open".

~That will take you to your gallery and you just click on which pictures you want to upload to the post.

~You can attach 20 pics per post.

~In the body of the post -Hit a "return/enter" after each picture you attach. Otherwise it doesn't always space the pictures correctly.

Jason tends to tower above me, too... What is it with these tall people owning VXs? I'm always stunned when they actually fit behind the wheel, and how they manage to somehow not look like a circus act unfolding themselves getting out...

The seat needs to be perfectly adjusted. when I first got my vx I did feel a little clausterfobic or confined in the driver seat. However I guess since I have put 70K on the ride, it doesn't bother me any more.

I guess I need to park next to Jon sometime too.

Im 6'2" and i never felt overly cramped in my VX, but i definately had to get my 'gangsta lean' on in order to feel like i fit.

Is that where 86th turns into colorado? Building looks really familiar! If so thats only a few miles from my house! Small world if it is.

You got it, I work at the Drinking Water Facility.

Speaking of... Jon, do you still have those OME springs? I might know a guy who could use them... :)

Yes, do you want them?

Sweetness! I may have to stop by sometime, shake a hand and finally put a face to the VXorado machine!

Sounds good. I also live just up the road on 136th/Washington. You're more than welcome to drop by for a visit sometime. :yesgray:

At lunch, I was mentioning Club Workshop (http://www.clubworkshop.com/) as a place to get a hold of some higher-end tooling. Their monthly Denver Makers meeting is coming up tomorrow (11 Thursday) at 7pm if you want an excuse to look around the place. It doesn't sound like one of the better presentations, but it still might not be a bad time to poke around.

Sounds like a plan. Just a few more days to see the VX in black/white, next week it's getting wrapped in a new color... :)

Those goodyears are incredible. I constantly rave about my terra grapplers, but when I went wheeling the first time with Jon, i understood why so many people run them. I really like the nitto's for daily driving, but the kevlar wranglers just dominate offroad.

Thanks for the info... are Jon's the Kevler series or the older standard MT-R's (now discontinued / called military now) ? I am thinking of setting up the 18's with the MT-R's, and setting up the 16's for daily use.

I have been running Dunlop's for almost 20 years, Goodyear took them over and Killed the truck tires division.

The wrap will be in brushed blue steel. :bgwo:

I have the Kevlar MT/Rs and they're awesome. They're super quiet for an aggressive off road tire and should last around 30k miles. IMO, best tire for serious off roading and daily driving.

I've heard the Goodyear duratracs are also pretty good and cheap but they only have a 2 ply sidewall.

35x12.5r15, C, 31 psi

I got them for $210 a tire but they get pretty pricey once you move up from 15" rims.

THey come in either a C or E rating, with 2 ply or 3 ply, respectively, IIRC.

That's true, you could get an E rating. Might be a little stiff for a VX. :_confused

...or the C rated MT/Rs have a 3 ply sidewall.

Well, I did have a set of E rating tires on the VX. I moved them to my wife's Avalanche. I had those tires on the VX for 40K, no problem with the stiffer tires. They would have lasted forever, if I wouldn't have moved them. After over 40k on the VX, still measured 15/32" average (new 18/32".)
