O.K..... Marrying my Girlfriend in Kentucky pretty soon.:happyface She's coming here to the U.K. to live with me (obviously.. lol!) She'll want to drive the VX... trouble is she's only Just a tiny bit under 5 feet tall. How do I lower the drivers seat so's she'll be comfortable driving it?

Lowering the seat may cause worse problems...not being able to see over the dash, make it nearly impossible to see out the rear , etc.
Buy her a little Fiat500!

Marrying her is one thing, but letting her drive your VX? That must really be love. ;) All the best to you and your bride, man.

Oh yeah, the seat... Yeah, I wouldn't mess with it. The VX is already borderline laughable when it comes to visibility. You'll keep your beloved gal (both of them, actually) safer by not messing with the lines of site.

Sure you didn't mean raise the seat? Can't see how making your shorty even shorter would help?

In case there was confusion about VT's last post...
Regarding the word: Shorty...

From Wikipedia:

In hip-hop slang, the word shorty or shawty (the latter of which is derived from the Southern United States pronunciation), has multiple meanings. In the 1980s and 1990s, the word meant "newcomer", particularly a newcomer to rap music or to certain aspects of street life or gang life. It also simply referred to someone who was younger and greener than the speaker. More recently, however, the term has evolved to also mean a woman, especially an attractive woman. This more recent usage has been popularized by modern pop-influenced rap music.[1]
Shawty in slang can also refer to a young and attractive woman who is short. This is one of the reasons it sounds like the word 'shorty'. Justin Bieber uses this phrase often in his songs along with other singers or rappers mainly from the USA. Despite the close pop culture links between the two countries, the word is almost nowhere to be found in the United Kingdom.

Yes, I'm a dork.

Paul,

I have to agree. She'll probably be more comfortable if the seat is actually higher even if you need to extend the pedals for her.

There was a writeup about lowering the drivers seat but it involved some fairly extensive cutting of the floor boards. If you're still interested, lemme know & I'll see if I can find it.

I'm slightly over 5 feet tall.... maybe . Anyway I have no problems with reaching of the pedals, and I find the VX to be rather comfortable . In "short" I think that there will be no need for modification. Although I'm wrong a lot!

I would agree - I am 5'2" and I have no problems :yesb:

Just that I recall looking over the heads of crowded standing room only trains!
I'm only 5'10"
I remember getting hammered by umbrellas on crowded sidewalks in the rain too! Over their heads was in my face!
I don't think 5'0" is any kind of problem, But I would love to lower the seat, so my head would be off the roof and not hit the top of the door frame when I turn my head.
I remember the lower the seat thread. He cut the back seat rail mounts so he could flatten the hump out. I thought he cut the front seat riser too, but I don't remember.
I'm betting Ldub has already posted the link while I typed this. :yeso:

Got my daughter to sit in there last night (she's just on 5') and she had no issues at all.. so it's all good! :) Regarding the "shawty" thing.... knew that already!.... it's what I call her from time to time... Lol!
Now I just have to get her used to sitting in the "wrong" side of the car and driving on the "wrong" side of the road!

Thanks Y'all :grino: (Ohhhh.... she's got me talking like her already! :winkb:)

Now it's time to learn ya some proper English so you can impress the family of the bride-to-be.

When addressing a group, you say "Thanks all Y'all" (I can't even imagine that being said with an English accent:)).

Hey, if Short Round could drive with blocks tied to his shoes in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, it should be good enough for anyone else!
