The photos have been released...
if you're a fellow carshow and concept car junkie...you'll see it in person
It's an absolute stunner....not a bad angle or side. It's intended to represent the new corporate face and design ....sadly NOT a new product line
Things are looking up for Lexus for sure....
***Check the "Spindle" design language in the interior.....***:bgwo:
(I'm stealing that console design idea. I just started on a Pontiac wagon and I think it's gonna work just fine in a full length form) :bgwb:

I really like the Lexus LFA & this looks pretty similar.

I'm not completely sold on the "photoshop stretch effect" front end but everything else looks great.

Nah, don't settle for less.... go to the source and wait for the Subaru BRZ STi if you have an interest in that. Hell, may as well.... they built the thing for Toyota/Scion. :p

see the difference is that i know for a fact that they are producing the FR-S, the subi/toyota has just been a rumor, and concept, no intent on production.

nice car though

The Toyota FT-86 is for sure, but won't be coming to the US. The Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S are for sure coming stateside. Nobody knows yet about the BRZ STi, but I find it highly likely there will be one, the big question is about if its going to be turbocharged or not.

Here is what the production model FT-86 looks like. This was from one of their press days in Japan a few weeks ago.

$25k vs $370k....

Hmmm....

Btw, your pic gets 4mpg and ours is actually gonna see the light of day. :p

I can actually see the Miata and S2k crew taking an interest in BRZ, especially if the STi version gets the green light. Lacks AWD and the full on powertrain of my current STi, so, I passed a long time ago. :bgwo:

I've been following the evolution of the Subie/Yota joint effort as well. It looks like an updated version of the 90's Celica.
It's not overly edgy or super high performance. They tried to make an affordable good handling rear drive sports car. I've also read that there's no room for all wheel drive in that thing either. I personaly loved the 90's HP race that was going on between Mitsu, Toyota, Mazda and Nissan. If I had my pick from that era it would be a Toyota Supra Turbo. So, we'll see if this is the re-awakening of those sleeping beasts...

All ribbing Dubs, all ribbing. My elbow tends to get sore with it here since we all do it so much. ;)

And agreed. When I first heard about the project, I assumed Subie was contracted to build the new Supra, since Toyota can hardly build a car with working brakes or seat belts now. I am sad to see this venture landed it as a "Scion" as well, since, IMHO, every high schooler will have one the day they come out. Regardless, it isn't my cup of tea anyways. Too small and not a fan of RWD unless it has the power to boot.

And ya, an AWD unit would have made the car too heavy and defeat the purpose of building a lightweight sport coupe. Average power plus very lightweight and you can still end up with a nasty little axe murderer. ;)

Anyways, this was a complete thread-jack. Apologies.

the BR-Z is being tested for turbos now, and subaru projects the turbo version to emerge in late 2013.

I have a 'friend' at subaru who leaks info to me :)
