In my 109k 99 I am getting vibration at about 60 mph that goes away after I accelerate past 65. It feels like when your wheel is out of balance, but that is not it. I just had them balanced. It seems to be worst when I am making a banking left turn. Nothing appears loose or worn underneath shaking everything I can reach.

Before i go checking wheel bearings, does anyone else have anything quick to check?

Mine hums a bit around the same speed usually. Not less and not more. Just right around the 60ish range. I thought it was just my tires...? Beats me.

Have you recently changed rotors?

It's a long shot, but still a possibility.

No the rotors are original. It is coming due for brakes. Still a mystery to me.

Sorry Jo. The doors are back on for the winter :(

Mine did this exact thing vibration around 58-64 then would disappear, turned out to be an alignment issue. Had a four wheel alignment and problem was gone.

Explain how a "4 wheel alignment" works on a solid axle vehicle with no adjustability of the rear links...I think I'd be asking for 2 wheels worth of money back. :D

Mine does the same at about 60, especially steering left.

Thought it was the tire balance myself but will get the alignment checked too.

Could be too much or too little front toe making a tire skitter as it gets pulled toward or away from the opposite tire by the road and then springs back, returning to it's proper line, with a force large enough to feel it wobble.

On the other hand, it could be a squirrel sleeping in the wheel! :p

Where your wheels balanced when still installed on the vehicle??

That type of balancing accounts for any variations in the hubs and rotors as well as the wheels and tyres.

Might be worth a try.

Okay I'll look into it. That is the next step I think.

Do you have the chrome wheels like on the 2000-2001. If the chrome is flaking it is difficult to balance them. Check the flaking on the interior of the wheels.

Just making sure you weren't getting sold something you didn't get...not that those completely honest mechanics would ever try and do such a thing :D

Okay, now I am confused. I took it into the shop and they guys there checked it out and said they could see nothing wrong and the alignment was okay. Their theory is wheels still out of balance so I am going to take it back to the tire shop and have them do it again! This is really annoying!! At least they didn't charge me anything.
