I'm only 21, but it SEEMS like most people on here are more...ripe in years lol. Are there any other people on here in their teenage/young adult years of life? Just kinda curious if I'm the only single young adult VX driving empty bank account electrical engineering college student type-o-person around.

..."college-ish" doesn't necessarily mean late teens to early twenties; some of us are late bloomers. I for one am 27 and I'm only two years into a four year BSN degree. Though single, relatively young, and empty bank account are definitely all things I can relate well to. Yeah, my dad technically owns my VX. :righty:

Amazingly enough though, we're all very different in age yet we don't have even a slight bit of social disconnect. Not a single person here treats me any differently for my shortcomings or lack of life experience. It's all part of what makes this community the most enjoyable one I've ever been blessed to be a member of. ;Dy;

I'm 26, 3 years out of college. I bought the VX right out of college when I was still pretty broke. Now that I have a good job I seem to spend all my money on the VX ;)

That's for sure. I'm on co-op at Kohler Engines right now. It's paying for my VX. But the tranny went 2 weeks after I bought it. 2 weeks after that the flexplate broke and they had to pull the tranny again. Now I'm getting new tires for winter. I feel like I'm never gunna get the VX paid off. It's been a money pit so far lol. I hope I've reached the bottom lol. So what engineering school? Plattville? MSOE? I go to Michigan Tech. I'm behind on the engagement thing, although I want to be there. I've found that girls just suck. Ugh. Really ruined my last several months, this one girl has. Ha! AND she made fun of me and my VX when I got it, until she realized she could nap in the back seats while I drive. She chirped up about it after that lol.

Think we had this convo before? I'm at Bradley U in Peoria, doing a co-op in Rockford at Hamilton sundstrand (next semester). Don't rush on the engagement thing. rings and weddings are EXPENSIVE... and so are toys with wheels. spent more on that ring than my first two cars. combined. almost as much as the VX. lol but she loves it so its all good.

Yep thats exactly what I just put on the spare on the back. The rest are 285/50/20. personally I like them better on the 18's too. more rubber. But haven't had them in snow yet. I think they're supposed to be good in it though.

Just turned 20 and got my VX's this summer. Have less than 500 miles behind the wheel so far, but excited to be spending a lot of time under the hood this winter. Wish it was warmer in the garage though!

Well I am 47 and working on my Masters in Special Education. Now my son might inherit the VX when he too heads up to Michigan Tech in the fall as a freshman, if they let neewbies have vehicles. Ya now back in the day schools didn't let everyone have vehicles on campus.

I'm 32 and my wife is 25 - I tell her it's an investment in my later years. :o :p

She's in school right now and will graduate in spring 2014. I'm hoping to go back for my masters at some point, but not while the girls are both under 3. :eek:

Hey,:_mecker: I'm not crazy like Billy and some of the other Phoenix & Tucson guys....I live up at 5,000 ft and regularly go up to 6,000 ft+....OK, so maybe it's not measured in feet right around me...more like 2"-4". But I've played in the snow with the Coopers....did really good. Then it all turns to mud and they did pretty good there too! I have the Nitto Terra Grapplers now, and sold the Coopers to "Knigh7s". The Coopers are actually a bit smoother riding than the NTGs, and their treadwear was terrific too.

p.s......"Joshi" is a young college guy, think he's in New Jersey.

Mostly driving style.. I was over 16 for a while but my job now has me on back roads sp its dropped a bit.

I try to get up to speed as quickly as possible (without completely flooring it) then use no throttle or just enough to maintain speed. Going downhill I pick up speed and let it fall going back uphill. Rarely use the brakes, just allow myself to coast whenever possible unless its going to annoy someone behind me. If you anticipate the traffic or lights ahead you can let yourself slow down without braking and often you can time it so you dont even need to stop completely

Works beautifully and I really dont even think about it anymore and dont have to drive any slower than I used to.

11/03/2011, 05:02 PM
I might start trying stuff like that. Hmm. But my driving is nearly 100% city. Worst case scenario for absolute worst mileage. So I'm not sure how good it will get, if at all. Ugh. I only get highway miles period when I go home every few weekends.
