Recently, there has been a bit of an uptick in site donations...:yesgray:
And I'm not talking NORMAL SS activity...NO my friends, this is the kind of SS that makes VXinfo such a special place to hang, butt heads, learn stuff, & in general, have some like minded fun...

What am I blathering on about NOW? you might ask???

I'll tell you...

People, many of whom who have become good friends, yet shall remain nameless, who haven't owned a VX in over a year...SS!

People, who have "only just begun" (thanx Richard & "don't turn sideways behind the mic stand"), & already "get it" enough to contribute before they even really know us...SS!

Major League VX Kudos to all y'all VXerites...past, present, & with any luck...future...:thanx:

I donate a toaster to the site once a year. I don't know what you are on about.

That's just one of the usual suspects trying to stir $#!+ up and create drama by claiming moral superiority again.

Sorry...I just got a case of the "warm fuzzies" after looking around & realizing that there are some who no longer own VX's, (Jack & Justin come most readily to mind, since I talk to them now & again) yet still like hangin' here enough to throw the Boss some cash every once in a while...

And also, some new members who are able to comprehend, practically right out of the chute, that a website with no outside advertising doesn't finance itself...

That struck me as being special, & got me to wondering if there are many other enthusiast sites where this kind of support exists...I'm guessing probably not.

Kudos to ALL who "get it" was my only message....:thanx:

Nay sayers & those with an axe to grind, will always exist no matter what group anyone chooses to be affiliated with...just a fact of life...:_confused
That's their choice, & that's OK by me.

And VXR, I'm sorry mostly for you, because it's becoming more & more apparent that many of the posts that you respond to are beyond your level of comprehension, hence the  response...:smilewink

Also MAJOR KUDOS to the Boss & his crew, for apprehending the trio of white trash siblings that was on the run...till they took that wrong turn to Pueblo town.........:_beer:

Nope...I leave name calling in the arena of those to whom I have moral superiority...:rotate:.

trio of white trash siblings

Wait, I find that offensive.....lol.
Just think, if they had a VX or perhaps a Nissan Leaf, they never would have made it that far. They would have run out of gas/charge a long time ago!!

Hence, the moral superiority comment. Get it?

Although, since the reference to "levels of comprehension" was mentioned, and since you are still making the same types of comments as last time this was discussed, that one and the "axes to grind" comment could go both ways equally too.

Seems we do agree on something though, some people get it, and some just don't. :p

Does someone have a spreadsheet or chart that shows who is constantly in battle with whom? This gets confusing. :rotate:

This place has been so contentious lately the theme song (http://www.televisiontunes.com/Soap.html) to Soap (TV Series 1977–1981) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075584/) keeps running though my head as I read threads.

I'd still like to know why my idea for compensating the site according to how much personal usage an individual takes advantage of was dismissed so quickly. I have to say, that was very convenient. Since the concept of what is fair has been utilized so often for justification in these types of threads though, doesn't it seem fair that someone who has thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of posts should be more obligated to provide a higher level of contribution?

Even those with some of the levels of comprehension that have been exhibited here probably understand by now why their electrical bills are higher when they turn on their light switches and heaters/air-conditioners more often...or their home computers to visit their most visited websites for that matter. ;)

I'm very aware how most these days find it easier to buy their way into favor, but personally, I'm still a firm believer that exchanging ideas, knowledge, and simply answering a question to help another when I'm able still counts for something...as opposed to not wanting to be bothered, and instead just directing someone to the search function.

No need to name any names, but I still find it VERY convenient that the member of this site with THE highest post count is always going out of his way to "encourage" others to subsidize and ensure the longevity of an activity in which he obviously devotes SO much of his time.

But, I've explained all of this before, yet here we are again. It's one thing to be over-qualified, but it's something else entirely to apparently bask in being under-qualified. :yesgray:

What about those that are off the grid? With no plastic to use. I know I could install a bill eceptor, like on coke machiens, on my computer. So I can insert a 20 whenever I can. So everyone wins

I appreciate the thought 'Dub, I will make it clear as always, THERE IS NO PRESSURE to ever donation (outside of the ribbing that goes on from others), so, let me refphrase that.

THERE IS NO OFFICAL PRESSURE TO EVER DONATE, this place will always be member driven with no advertisements no matter what. If you feel the need to splurge, my thanks goes out to you, if not, my thanks goes out to you still. Thank you for making this a great place to hang.

I appreciate the thought 'Dub...
The thing is, I do too, and have never discouraged anyone from doing so, but that generally seems to be conveniently misinterpreted/ignored by some. My problem has been with those who get so wrapped up in listening to themselves trying to make themselves look good by making others look bad...they simply forget to listen.

One of the main reasons usually given in these discussions is that $$ donated to this site is more than made up for when questions are asked, knowledge is gained, and money is then saved on VX repairs. Well not being the type who generally blasts his own horn, I don't mention it much, but I consider myself one of the people on this site capable of effectively answering some of those questions, and my giving back comes in the form of volunteering the time and effort necessary to at least research, diagnose, and suggest possible fixes. I know my answers don't always hit upon the exact causes of the problems being described, but that's the nature of trying to make remote automotive repairs.

Simply put, I don't come here to deliberately insult anyone, but I also don't come here to be deliberately insulted, especially when I'm actually trying to contribute to an environment that will make potential new members comfortable enough to feel that they can actually ask a question with no fear of being ridiculed for simply asking those questions, and who knows, maybe then even hang around until they learn enough to start answering a few questions themselves. What's not to "get"?
