Roof rack revisited

Hi, I'm new to the VX scene. Traded in a 1999 Eclipse GSX for the 2001 proton yellow last Friday. I need a roof rack for the upcoming ski season. my question is: will the Yakima wingrider roof rails mount securely to the factory locations? Has anyone ever had any experince with this model?

I've done tons of searches on this board and others, but am still unclear. I've searched the Thule and Yakima websites and they apparently have no comaptible models. Yet members on this board have both Thule and Yakima roof racks.

I've read about how the roof rack can be ordered straight from Isuzu, but I'd like to know if their is a more economical solution.

Can you please list the exact name/model number of the pieces (i.e. towers, rails, etc...) I need to get a roof rack going?

I know you are looking for an inexpensive solution to purchase the roof rack, as opposed to the Dealer, but here a link for the numbers and manual.

I got one of my two sets of my Yakima Wing Bars from here:

I bet they'll sell you just the bars, seeing as they apparently still have them after so long.

It's not easy to find the Yakima Wing Bars these days. The Isuzu bars are easy to come by, but they're so short...

For the rest of the parts, that PDF is a great resource. Wish I had seen it last year. :)
