It is just after midnight.

I am watching the horrible video of large areas of Japan that have been decimated by earthquake and now, a tsunami.

My hopes and prayers go the people of Japan. I am hearing that Hawaii is sounding tsunami warnings. My thoughts go to the people who must now brace for the worst.

Hope all our VXers around the Pacific will be safe. :(

God help us all...the whole world is falling apart around us. So many natural disasters, odd weather patterns, and just bizarre happenings lately. I for one am a little spooked by it all. I knew about the quake, though didn't realize there had been a tsunami in Japan as well, when did this happen? :wtfy:

...all the many people of Japan are in my prayers as well.

It was the offshore earthquake that caused the tsunami. Tons of quake and tsunami info are on the front page of the Weather Channel home page:

My thoughts and prayers to all the victims of this most recent tragic event. The Earth seems to be trying to shake us off like a dog with fleas.

Terrible news and quite a shock when I turned the news on this morning. Hopefully we will hear from the Hawaiian branch of our family soon letting us know that all is well.

Everyone stay safe out there.

Yeah, this is pretty bad and depressing. Having just been over there this makes me pretty sad. Such a beautiful, fun country. I hope they recover quickly.

Oahu is safe, thankfully. Saw the damage the Tsunami was doing to Japan before I responded out. Now it is time to sleep, long day/night. Keep prayin for Japan though, could've been that bad here as well, but Japan got hit hard.

Kona got hit hard but nothing like Japan I was just there in Kona town lots of damage to the roads and shops. I was extremely lucky the water went around my stores. It's going to be a few days of helping friend clean up and rebuild Aloha

All safe in Seaside Oregon.
I am on the CERT team in Seaside and we were up all night making ready to evac the low areas. We have spent 2 years getting the town ready for a NEAR Tsunami. Things went well. The only visible effect was the water pulling back a few times with no big surge.
Prayers to Japan.

I'm just hoping they get those two reactors under control. If they can't get them cooling this whole thing is about to get WAY messier.

Sucks.

I work on a boat here on Oahu. The tides where unusual again today due to some after shocks! It was mean low tide and then all of a sudden it would surge up and down a few feet.

P.S

While watching the news coverage in Japan the past day or so, I saw an Isuzu dealership in the background! :rollb2:

Here is a good video of a tsunami hitting Kona . It's about the 5th wave to hit but the biggest was the 2nd and 3rd.
