Think Christchurch had another serious quake within the past year, didn't it? .... ..:freek:

My Sister is in Christchurch.

She just got back from Antarctica.

Got an e-mail that said she is okay. I guess she was out by the airport and the quake was more near the city center.

Scary stuff.

It is very bad.
Australia has send about 150 emergency services personnel over to help search, plus sniffer dogs that can detect a live persons breath.

Death count now is 75 with still over 300 missing.
This from a city of about 300,000 people.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the missing and their families.

Yeap Shocking as! last The last quake was in september i think.

Has been over 30 aftershocks Tho some of the aftershocks are near enough size to the main quake.

She said that the place they ate breakfast was destroyed and their hotel was missing half the building.

Luckily she had her passport and a few other things on her person.

Im in Wellington
Bottom of the north island
3 hour boat ride then around a 5 hour drive.

Have a few mates down there luckily all of them are ok!.

Tho one of them his apartment building collapsed and hes lots everything by the sounds of it. Its shocking but im glad everythings getting sorted nicely and people are fundraising heaps !

I was in Christchurch about 10years ago and it is a very nice place with extremely nice people. I wish everyone a safe recovery from all that mess.
