10 years Ha Try 11 years new!! Bought my VX at the end of 99 and still loving it today. Few problems mainly electronics other than that almost 200,000 miles and still looks new and yes my VX still turns heads wherever I go.

We've got two '99's with similar results. It was just a plain good car. At $33K new it's what you'd hope for.

Bought my Ironman in TX, 1999. Made numerous trips to Big Bend NP from Dallas. I guess I drove some couple thousand miles on rough unpaved dirt (sometimes deep mud or deep loose sand) Texas roads. Never got stuck nor had any other operating problems. In 2003 made a 2nd and final drive from TX to CA where I am, today. My 11-year-old VX still has less than 60k on its odometer. Worst mechanical failure happened just last week. The windshield washing fluid reservoir sprung a major leak near the pump. I periodically encounter a local fellow that wants to buy my VX. "Hand me $100k in cash and I'll include the iPod."

Bill,

Your reservoir may not have sprung a leak. The tube running to the squirters can come off of the bottom of the reservoir quite easily (mine has done it twice). The first time I was able to twist my hand just the right way to get it back on without removing the tank (only lost a little skin). The second time I couldn't figure out how I did it the first time and ended up removing the tank to put the tube back on.

Your reservoir may not have sprung a leak... TomThanks Tom. After posting my message I searched for a solution. I think I came across your earlier post about this issue.
