I'm looking to get a CB, saw Spazz' radio that is hand held with the transmitter in a small box below the driver's seat. Anyone (Spazz) know the maker and model number of the CB?

Not quite on-topic, but I bought stuff from this guy a long time ago (7 years ago)... pretty good prices on CB stuff.

I think this (http://www.bills2way.com/equip/mid75820.html) is a better choice. Nothing left installed in the truck. Remove when not in use... nothing to steal... except the antenna unless you use a magnetic one. Plus, you can use it as a handheld if you're into backpacking and hiking... it has NOAA weather bands too.

Here's where I got mine.

Other than a magnet mount, how are you guys attaching the CB antenna?

If you have a roof rack you can get a clamp on antenna moutning bracket. Check bills2way.com tons o' stuff there. You can also get a through glass one like the cell phone antennas. They stick on to both sides of the glass. Works fairly well. I had that in a Jeep few years back and got about a 4 mile range with it.

I always liked Tonka's antenna. http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1857&size=big&papass=&sort=4

Firestick sells the mount. I just haven't had the guts to drill through the back of my VX. So I use a Wilson 500 mag mount.

I don't think 4 wheel drive will be an upgrade option! My bro and I are looking at an old beater Scout with a turbo diesel Nissan motor. I think a rear locker would help the Axiom but not on the stuff you and Andy where doing!

Yeah, I will soon have a CB and I was looking at the 75WXST but
I will get the 76XTR due to the fact that it has a PA. No weather band. The 76 comes with a ant but I have already put a cell lookalike firestick (DS-14)on my VX with a fake ant too. I think it looks too cool. Will post pics tomorrow!

i am using the cobra as listed above. its a nice unit if you don't have alot of room to mount a cb. i have it mounted under the seat. i had a midland for a while...it was stolen(in wyoming, of course). it was a great unit, but didn't have as many functions or weather band.
i love my cobra. i think i maybe the only honda with a cb.

i have a mag. mount antenna. kinda nice because you can just interchange if you have more than one vehicle.

Thanks!
I was really scared too but it turned out ok. I did drill a little through.

Tonka,

You went with the FireFly "No Ground-Plane" model right?

Did you use 3 or 4 foot antenna?

Do you get good reception? I figure the antenna is really important for this right?

So, I am just gonna call Firestik. I tried Walcott, but they were out of the black antenna, and thats what I want. I stll have a good question,

4 foot or 3 foot antenna?
