Apparently the VX does not live up to the high standards of Ford Focus owners.

This makes me sad.

NOT

Considering the "VX" badge in the grill.... someone from here?

Still.... it says "Lotus". Gotta admit.... it is weak-sauce. :p

Funny story about rebadges though.... earlier this summer, I had my VX parked in the lot by my local wateringhole Starbucks. I was sitting just feet away from it sipping on my coffee. 2 older gentlemen got out of a Vette they parked next to it, and took a lap around it. They started pointing to the "SUPERCHARGED" emblem below my "3.5L". They had a couple of chuckles and one said "They never supercharged any ISUZUS. This guy isn't kidding anyone." I hit them alarm to unlock the VX, walked over, opened the door, pooped the hood, and sat back down. They were looking at me said, "Oh, this is yours?" and I said, "Go ahead" and nodded to the popped hood. They pushed the hood up and looked. The one who was holding the hood up turned and said, "Touche, well played." :bgwo:

We talked about it for a hot minute before all attention was turned to their bad-*** Z06, heh.

So.... seriously.... at least be able to back up your badges. :yesgray:

I liked this comment:
tis actually a fun little truck if you can get around teh excursion hiding blindspots

While I'm not sure there's any blind spot in the world large enough to hide an Excursion, I will allow that the blindspots are viciously large.

Did anyone see the post in that thread saying: "The only one I've ever seen is a totaled one in the B&H Junkyard in Maryland.

In case your looking for parts.

I would refer to rear view out the back window as a Horizon hiding blind spot of course it works for spotting highway patrol planes

I did...already called them...they have 2 yards, don't show it in inventory. Said, it's possible it's there and not listed on computer, but he wasn't willing to physically go look for it. :rollo:

TEN36VX... 10-36 is police code for "Advise with Correct Time". Maybe the owner needs a link to the recent thread about resetting the clock? :p

Hmmm, there's no telling when that person saw that VX at the salvage yard. I s'pose it could have been years ago.

Hard to believe Focus fanatics are dogging the VX. I mean, we don't even have the cool European Focus over here yet. The 2011 is a nice car, but the rest are hideous!

Gotta remember folks, Simon Cox formerly of Lotus cars designed the VX and even had a rebadged version called iron man made to highlight his interest in marathon running. This car is not too far off.

Good find, Ldub. He did mention the Lotus rebadge back in '08. I don't remember that at all. The cladding was painted. I guess even paint on our cladding is not permanent. :(

Lotus should definitely stick to making badass cars..not mini-SUV's LOL.

EDIT

Just read the rest of the replies..so, some douche ACTUALLY put Lotus badges on an Isuzu? You've got to be kidding me..

Whats funny is he ACTUALLY believed it to be a Lotus, the owner of the VX has to be laughing so hard..... I love it when people ask if mine is really made by NASA (NASA badging)

i just find it funny for anyone with a focus to say ANYTHING about any other car on the market....
owning a focus automatically removes you from anyone who ever deserves to say anything about other vehicles.... at least in my book.

which brings up my next question... why were you on a focus forum deermagnet??

I still have a set of lambo badges I picked up from a dealer that went out of business like 6 years ago. Never have been able to get around to putting them on the vx though. I wonder if it would increase the chance of getting it stolen?

probably not, but it would probably increase the chances of it getting talked about on the "Classic '98 Ford Taurus" forum. They're a very fancy crowd.

I found that thread using the Board Reader advanced search-
http://boardreader.com/index.php?a=a&x=1 (http://boardreader.com/index.php?a=a&x=1)

Once in a while I use that search to see what people are saying about our VX. I use the advanced search so I can narrow it down to just the last week or month. Mostly members on auto boards bring it up in their threads for "Ugliest Car", "Worst Car Ever", "Car Design Disasters".

I remember one person said about the VX, "What's the point, you can't wheel with it." They have no idea. :rolly:

Give it a try to see what people are saying about something you're interested in.

If recently, after almost 10 years, I doubt it, but anything is possible. I guess dude could have meant he saw it a while back.

Simon also designed the CTS most recently.... any takers on re-badging your VX as a Cadillac? C'mon now. :P
